Is this normal

Post by lilliput-lilly »

Hi all,

I'm knew so please be gentle with me. I am starting my burserelin injections on the 21st of April and because the doctor is going to be away on holiday for 3 weeks they are keeping me on it for 5 weeks then I have to have 8 ampules of the stimms in 3 (im) injections every day. Is this a normal sort of time scale? As it is I am scared to death at the thought of having to inject myself and haveing to do it for neigh on 2 months is really starting to freak me out.
Does anybody else have/had such a long period of down regging and did they have any side effects?

Thank you in advance.

My cycles were both a bit over three weeks of injections.
But it is diferent for everyone, depends on your factors and how your body reacts.
If you are still worried ask your clinic (I did), they should be there for you. Image

Hi Lilly,
My injections were also a little over 3 weeks long, but I did Luperon and Gonal F. However I also did BCP for about 3 weeks before that. Hopefully to make you feel better, as long as the stims are a subQ shot (the little one), they are really no big deal. They are really quite painless and easy to do, they only problem is that it is a time commitment. But I actually went away for an evening and took it with me. Another day, I was gone all afternoon, so I did it in the car. Remember it is all worth it in the end. What is a couple months when you get to reap the benefits for the rest of your life. Take it one day at a time because once the process gets started, it goes really fast.
Best of luck.
