Heavy Bleeding question??

Hello
I am currently posting up in General on the April/May buddies but i have a question to ask and i thought best to ask it here.

I statred down regging on 21st april and i was told i would have a light bleed and my membrane would come away. I started bleeding heavily yesterday (the 30th) and i am passing clots long and rouned and bleeding quite heavy. Is this normal?
I thought that down regging you didn't really have a period as such. Apologies if i sound compleltey daft...this is our first go with IVF and i still feel a bit overwhelmed with everything. I am going to ring my clinic but wanted to know if anyone else has experienced similar.

Hi Sarah

I am down regging too (still), and had a VERY heavy AF. I have also been spotting since then (about two weeks). It seems to be some people's experience, so don't worry. After AF, I had a scan, and my RE said everything looked perfect.

Hi I too had my AF during my down reg. I was amazed when I went for my scan to see the thickness of my uterus when the nurse said 'i see you had a period' Amazing. She said lots of women have a AF during this time. Good luck with your treatment!

Thank you ladies, muchly appreciated i feel better knowing now that its all ok, i got it into my head that down regging meant switching off including your AF ..no such luck ehh? LOL

My name is Ann Marie and im 37 and I had a tubal ligation after my 13 yr old.Now i want to have a baby with my new husband. He is younger and alittle scared of what he has to do. Our problem is that we will be doing our IVF in Egypt. It will only cost us 1500.00 dollars instead of the 10000.00 it would cost here in usa. I have to wait til Oct....but I keep getting scared because I am so much older then when i gave birth to my children at age 21 and 23. What am I in for with IVF and where can I get books about this subject so my DH can read on it too.
