Waiting for results but have now started to bleed

Post by mel3780 »

It could only happen to me.....

I have been so positive about this cycle, my first and icsi...

This morning i went in for my blood test to find out the outcome of the cycle and now since i have gotten back home i have started to bleed...
I have done 4 home tests and they all come back positive....

Why???? Could'nt my body do this before hand???

I don't think i will be able to handle the next few hours just to hear them say sorry but it is a negative....

Oh, well best i get myself ready to do a frozen cycle... How long do you have to wait after a fresh cycle before you can start again??

Has this happened to anyone before???

Thanks all

Hi Mel

I have been through a few cycles of IVF with ICSI. I am currently on the 2ww with my current cycle. Back in 2002 I did a fresh cycle in June that failed, then did another fresh cycle in September that failed. I believe both times I started to bleed a few days prior. We had the option of doing frozen transfer in November after the Sept failure. So I do not believe there is a certain waiting period. Did you get your results back? Hang in there. I've been in your shoes and I wish there was something I could do or say to make you feel better but I know that is impossible. The only thing I can say is hang in there and if this is what you truly want, do not ever give up. That was my attitude through all my cycles. I wasn't going to give up on my dream of becoming a mom. And now I have a beautiful 2 year old daughter, Molly. And as I said we are awaiting results from our latest IVF to add to our family. I test next Friday. Good luck and keep me posted. Take care of yourself.

Some people do bled around the time of their usual period. If you got 4 positives, I say it's positive. Call the clinic and let them know though. They may be able to give you extra prog or something, I don't know.

Praying hard for you.

Mel - i'm no doctor - but it sounds like a BFP to me! Those tests seldom give false positives and I am assuming the trigger shot should be well out of your system by now.

I am currently reading a book that says 1 in 5 women have bleeding/spotting throughout pregnancy and go on to have healthy babies!

Hang in there! Let us know how the blood test came back...

Mel - so sorry to hear it didn't work out that last time - but the fact that you had a BFP at all - even for a short time - is a good sign. It means the embryo implanted! I am glad you are pushing forward with a FET cycle! I will keep my fingers crossed for you. GOOD LUCK!

Hi Mel. I'm really sorry to hear your news. That's great you've got some frozen embies. We didn't get any so hopefully we'll get next time. As Lisa says that's a good sign that you did get pregnant and that shows you have a good uterus. Take care and take it easy.
