CAN I FLY

Hi Everyone Can you help? I am currently going through my treatment and E/C is due w/c 25 August if all goes well. My family are flying out to Turkey beginning of October and I really want to go, obviously if I was lucky enough to get pregnant, does anyone know, can I fly? is there a reason why I couldn't? Marteen, Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but they advise you don't fly in the first trimester. Don't know why but we had this question before and I know the airlines will give you advise on when they will let you fly at the end of your pg but it is medical advise about the beginning. Hi Marteen Just to give a different point of view, I knew nothing about the medical advice and flew to Switzerland on holiday at 6 weeks pregnant (so 4 weeks after EC/ET). My clinic knew that I was going and didn't express any concerns and everything was fine. I would ask your clinic what they advise. Jules

Marteen All the advise I have had is that it is fine to fly - just drink loads! Think of all the women who fly over here to have tmt in this country and all those flying off to Italy etc - they all have tmt and when successful fly back - no problems there. Love Tracey xxx

Hi Marteen, I too worry about flying but have heard that it's ok really. All I would recommend is not carrying any heavy luggage :- ) Bon voyage and enjoy Turkey ! Susi

Hi Marteen, I would double check with your clinic just in case. I was told no flying for the first and last trimester during pg.(the consultant wasn't even happy about me flying at all really and advised that I wear those flight sock things.) Best of luck with your treatment, Love Kirsty x
