My news!

Post by Becky28 »

Hi all,
So sorry I didn't manage to post from France - I nearly went mad without the site!

Our holiday got off to the most unbeatable start when I did the test on the morning we left and got a POSITIVE!!! We were thrilled and couldn't believe our luck.

We had a bit of a scare while we were away though, about a week later - I got rushed to A&E in Paris with terrible tummy pains, which turned out to be OHSS - I spent a few hours on a drip and have been guzzling water ever since, and am feeling much better. My rusty French got a good airing anyway - A level didn't really cover IVF side effects!

I'm hoping for a bit of reassurance really. Because of the OHSS they scanned me, and could see one pregnancy - but all there really was to see at that stage was a sac, about 20mm across. They seemed to think this was fine, and I think as I was only five weeks at the time it'd be too early to see much else, but I am going mad worrying that it's not a viable enbryo. My HCG blood level was 5004 a week after we tested, and again they seemed to think this was okay, but the French consultant was very non-commital and offhand. I've got my six wk scan at King's on Friday a.m. so we'll know more then, but I'm finding all this a bit stressful!

I'll read all the posts properly later - am back at work and being so naughty doing this as I have a million things to catch up on!

Lots of love to all, B xx

BEcky

OMG - can just see them covering that in french at school. He was non -comittal to be on the safe side - sounds fine to me - HCG is fine and one sac at 20mm is where you should be - it will do a spurt you will see. They really can't get any more than that as won't get a flickering heart at that stage. Look after yourself and try and relax - hard i know and I will see you on the other side with michelle and bertie.
You really deserve it
Love
Tracey
xxx

That's great news, Becky!! Many congratulations to you and your DH. Was wondering how you'd got on in France.

I know they say your schooldays French comes back when you really need it, but I guess it doesn't really cover IVF!!

All the very best for Friday

Love, Claire x
