Hi all. How's everybody. I'm showing off a bit - I've just discovered how to change the colour!!!

Rachel - wow that sounds fantastic living there. I bit you don't miss our weather. Mind you England does get far better weather than we do! Do you have to pay for your treatment in the USA? We're very lucky that ours is funded. I collected my drugs for our next cycle. Exciting stuff. I felt a wee bit upset today as I was visiting my friend at the maternity hospital. She had a boy two days ago. Horrible seeing all those lovely babies. Hopefully next time I'm there it'll be coz I'm a patient!!! Take care xJackie - my AF should come on the 9th of this month. Last time it came a bit later coz I think I was getting a wee bit anxious and excited about me starting the first treatment. I won't start the drugs until day 21 so I'll have to take them away with me on holiday. Luckily we'll have a fridge in our room. Take care x

Hi July people!

I thought I'd pop over to see you as I'm day 2 of my 2nd IUI/Clomid cycle. My IUI is due around the 16th June and I should be testing around the 2nd July if all goes to plan. I have been on the April thread for my last IUI and unfortunatly we got a BFN. Hopefully round two will be better for us.

Look forward to cycling with you girls,

Em

Hi Em, glad you joined us. We too are on our 2nd go - IVF though. How's the weather in Oz? Not very nice here. We were going to try IUI but luckily got to the top of the waiting list and and got ICSI.

Hi everyone else. Just off the phone of my local airport to find out about carrying my down-regs and needles with me. Need to get a letter from my doc. Have any of you went abroad with your drugs?
Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Paula,

We are going back to England on June 27th and i will be doing my lupron jabs by then, so i have to take it with me. My Dr did says that he will have to give us a letter as the airlines don't like people to carry needles.

Welcome to all the new July buddies, wishing you all the best of luck.

Paula you got me playing too......

It's great living over here, the weather at the mo is in the mid 20's and will get hotter to around 30's, we are getting some servere thunderstorms, but they don't last long.
I don't have to work which is great, especially this time of year.

We are very lucky that we came here, as we had looked into fertility treatment back in England before we out, and they kept us waiting 1 year before they would do anything then in that year i had an ectopic and lost my left tube, so they made me wait another year as i had got pregnant by myself. Then told me i had to lose some weight before they would do anything. So they kept me waiting over 2 years.

We got here Jan 04 and went to see a specialist in Feb only to find out i was pregnant naturally but we MC that one. We started to plan a course of clomid after i had recovered, but found out again that i was pregnant naturally in May. Unfortunately that was ectopic. I felt like a fraud as i go to see them and tell them we can't get pregnant, or it all goes wrong and i end up pregnant twice in 4 months which shocked the hell out of us.

Well as soon as i had recover we started a cycle of IVF as i have a 90% chance of having another ectopic if we try naturally.

So in the 16 months we've been here we have been through 2 cycles of IVF one full and one FET and are about to start another FET. Plus the failed pregnancies.
So i think the treatment is so much better over here, plus it didn't bother them that i was slightly over weight.
We didn't have to pay for the first cycle of IVF and we hopefully won't have to pay for the 2nd and 3rd as the embryos came from the first cycle it is all considered part of the first cycle. We are arguing that one with the British Embassy at the moment.

So hopefully this treatment won't cost us too much.

I'm going to spend all next week going to the gym in the morning and lounging around my neighbours pool in the afternoon and pretend i'm on holiday, as i feel we really need one, but can't afford it at the mo, as we are going back to England for 2 weeks, and trust me all the traveling around visiting everyone won't be a holiday

Paula i'm so jealous, i'd love to go to Cuba, but as we are residents in America we are not allowed to travel there from here, the 2 countries don't like each other.

Have a wonderful time, relax and get a good tan.

Have a good weekend, whats left of it, everyone.

Take care
Rachel oxo

Oh and i'm still waiting for AF, hopefully she will show here ugly head this week.

Hi girls!
Rachel, I'm very impressed with your rainbow message!!!!! Poor you - you've been through so much. You just relax and enjoy the sun. I bet everyone can't wait to see you both again. My DH works away a month at a time. We've been to Cuba before. I couldn't believe how much they hate each other. DH couldn't use his visa card coz it was MBA. Luckily I had my one. Ladt time we stayed in Varadero this time we're going to Cayo Coco. Can't wait. Only thing is my DH will be so brown as he's in Baku and it's roasting!!! Four wks to go. I'm a teacher so i'm off for 7 weeks. Yipee. Take care Paula

Hi Jeck,

Welcome to this amazingly friendly group.

I've got everything crossed for you that all 3 embryos will survive the thrawing and at least one of the little darlings will dig deep and stay there for 9 months.

Looks like your not far from me, i live just outside Dayton Ohio.

Take care

Thanks Rachel!!
Your Right I'm not far from you! I am not far from the Paducah KY area. Do you have to drive far for treatment?? There is not a fertility clinic in western KY so I have to go to Nashville TN which is about 2 1/2hrs away. Its not bad except on the days that I just have to go for just blood work and ultra sounds and am there about 15 mins... I could get the ultra sounds locally but no lab close could get the blood work back in the time frame that the fertility clinic needed it... Sucks... Hopefully it will be all worth it.

At least with the FET cycle I will not have to make as many trips.

I so hope this is the one... We have to pay for IVF out our own pocket, and we are so lucky that we had 3 to freeze for a "bonus" round.

I am doing accupuncture this time and I so hope it helps me at least relax. IVF has taken over my life and I feel obsessed.,,,

Oh well I have babbled enough...

Thanks and Good luck!

Hi Ladies,

I hope you all had a great weekend.

My DH took me clothes shopping, to the cinema and then out for a lovely meal on Sat to cheer me up.
He's such a good man i feel very lucky to have him, he comes to all my appointments with me he says he won't miss them for anything and seems to understand all i'm going through he's always there to listen and takes it all in. He also reads all the books on the subject. I know that if all this doesn't work that i will still have him in the end and thats worth so much in it's self.

Talking about books on the subject if anyone is thinking of getting one "FERTILITY FOR DUMMIES" is very good and easy to understand.

We had friends to dinner last night and that was very nice even if i say so myself, I don't have much to shout about but my cooking is one of them, well so i'm always being told.

Jeck
We are lucky we have a few fertility centers in our area and mine is only about 30 mins drive, if all the traffic lights are against me....

I too am doing a FET. Luckily we have 10 embryos frozen.

I was thinking about accupunture, does it really help :?: :?:

Well AF still hasn't reared her ugly head which is really annoying as i want to start working out dates, mind you i have been getting a few twinges today so fingers crossed.

Have a great day and week hope the weather says nice for you all.

Take care
Rachel OXO

Hello everyone
Rachel do you really get a book called Fertility for Dummies??? Is it the same kind as the Computers for Dummies etc? I wonder if it's available in the UK. I'll look it up on the net.
It's weird seeing my ticker countdown. Can't believe it's coming round again.
Hear from you all soon. Paula xImage

Hey Nicki,

I haven't noticed much with the Clomid except I feel very emotional. My receptionist's DH has a brain tumour and she was telling me this morning that he had a review yesterday and it has shrunk. I was bawling! I've never met her hubby before but you'd think he was my best friend by my reaction. I cry at everything on the radio (especially if someone wins something!)

But I'm not sad. Its weird. Its more like I'm feeling everyone else's pain and happiness for them, but magnified.

My sister-in-law was also taking Clomid for a while and she said that she felt fabulous.....but she's a moody cow at the best of times!

oh well. I'll just stay away from my Beaches DVD then.

Cheers Em
