Just wanted to get some encouraging news from anyone who had a positive IVF cycle which ended being chemical preganancy and went on to another IVF cycle with it being a positive result and a "good" pregnancy?
I had my 1st IVF cycle in May which came positive but low beta numbers @ 27.9. Three days later my levels were @ 14 & I was told it was a chem. pregnancy to stop my prog. shots. I am anxious to start my 2nd cycle but VERY scared @ the same time. What if............

Hi,
for me I had a chemical preg back in Oct (1st ivf), fortunately i had 3 frosties, had a FET in Feb and currently i am 18 weeks pregnant, so there is hope, the fact that you got pregnant 1st time indicates you can, so i think you have good odds. Wishing you all the best for your next cycle.

WOW! I had the same exact situation as you and I see we are both in New Jersey too! I had my first IVF in Nov. and it was positive with low levels then 3 days later went back and my levels dropped to almost nothing and had to stop the prog. shots. Now I am stimming on Gonal F and Lupron for my 2nd IVF and looking @ egg retrieval on Mon. June 19th last time we put back 2 this time we will be putting 3 back.
So we will see what happens this time around. I will keep you posted and wish you lots of luck! And like Sue said it worked for her and atleast we know we got preg. the last time so that is a good sign too.

Heaps of luck and baby dust for you for the next time. You have every chance, try not to be disheartened, sorry for the sad news that you got so close the first time around.
If its any help upto 40 -50% of all pregnancys result in chem pg or m/c, often they are so earlier that in natural cycles people wouldnt even know they just have a delayed period. A friend just had the same happen to her and was told there was no reason to think she would be more prone to it not working the second time around. Good luck with the next round

Thank you all for your responses. I think we will try a FET rather than going to fresh cycle again, hopefully the FET works! It was mentioned to me this morning when I went for my blood work that maybe we could do another fresh cycle, rather than thawing at this time, to give us more embryos to freeze just in case. I think at this time for monetary reasons, we will try the FET and hope for the best. If it does not work than move on to another fresh cycle?! THey said the FET does not have as high of a success, at my clinic anyway.

Yes, we are pretty close to eachother! If you don't mind me asking, which clinic are you gong to? I am going through South Jersey Fertility. They have offices in Linwood, Marlton and Turnersville(I believe). They are all wonderful tehre, very understanding of the many questions and compassionate as well when you need them to be.
I will keep you posted on what happens. Next Thursday I will have a better idea of where we go from here.
