I know your not complaining... just a little niggle. Yes definately go for the cream cake. I have been craving ice-cream and cakes, tho not together.
I decided when first pregnant that I was going to spoil myself and eat what I want (in addition to the healthy stuff) and then as soon as the babes are here, cut out ALL the cakes and naughty stuff. Whether I will be able to do this is yet to be seen.

I am having a lovely peaceful day thanks. You too.

Hi everyone just poped in to see how everyone is doing. i went for my 16 weeks appointment today with the midwife. everything appeared to be fine, i listend to both the babies heartbeats. They are really movng around now  Im getting proper kicks and nudges off one baby all the time. i just get strong flutters off the other. that one is a bit lazy. must take after his dad. God i keep saying he? ive just got this really strong feeling the one on the left is a girl and the one on the right is a boy. i hope im right i have this really strong feeling. its wierd cause today when the midwife was trying to find the heartbeats, i knew she was looking in the wrong place. She was taking ages, so i said " i think you'll find one is here and the other one is here. soon as she did it you could here the heartbeat straight away. she said it was amazing i could feel them moving so strong and i knew exactly were they were.
I bought some more things today i went to tesco and there were lots of buy one get one free offers on lots of baby products. i stocked up on baby wipes, baby bath, baby oil, lotion, cotton pads, nappy cream. i also got some pj's and some more bottles. i dont think i need any more bottles  they have got 6 each i thnk that should be enough! im dreading all that sterilising lol. i came home and set al my proucts out on my changing station. it made me smile :D i no its to early to be buying all that stuff but i figured its beter to keep buying bits and pieces and putting them away. i should imagine we will go through quite alot with twins. plus it spreads the cost.
any way i just bobbed in and im blabbing away.
hope everyone is ok.

Hello Ladies

My twins were born just over 4 months ago and are doing well.
They keep me very busy and I dont get much time on here anymore.

Reading the post from Hayley(Langton) made me smile! We decided to wait till our twins were born to find out whether we had girls/boys/one of each. During my pregnancy I was convinced that "rightie" was a girl and "leftie" was a boy. I had nothing to base it on, other than instinct.
I was correct!

I put on almost 3 stone in weight but it was mostly the babies - I really did get quite big. My cake and chocolate addiction is still going strong but pushing a double buggy up the hill where I live, I strongly believe that I do deserve it!

I wish you all the best of luck for the coming months and beyond.
Take care
Ange

Hi everyone! Wish I could make this post more personal but I have serious baby-brain and am having trouble keeping track ... I'm going to have to get myself organized and start a list :)

Hate to be a 'Stupid American' but how much is a stone? I'm guessing 10 pounds, go ahead and have yourselves a nice laugh if that is way off. I've already gained 11 pounds myself since I started IVF - but it feels like more to be honest. I'm loving my bump tho - I got a preggers/new mom book on twins that says we should be taking in 3500 calories and something around 160 grams of protein each day - wow that's a lot and I'm loving every bite.

It's so fun to hear about your various baby names, feeling the babes kick/move and buying actually 'baby gear.' I'm getting ready to do some shopping online in the next several weeks so let me know if you have any good recommendations for sites. I've found a great stroller I want online but no local stores that sell it so that will be interesting. Also my hubby uses a wheelchair so I'm trying to figure out what kind of furniture to get or whether to have something custom made. Changing table is top of mind - I don't want to hear any excuses for him not to help ! I've already researched front-loading baby slings etc so he can carry the babes around - the reality of twins in our situation is starting to hit home (and I'm still thrilled!!!)

Take care, hope you're all feeling well. -Racquel

Hi all! I'm starting to think my tummy is too small. When I compare my tummy to a couple of you that have posted pics recently and in the past, I think I'm small. So now I'm getting worried that my babies aren't growing fast enough. I haven't had them meausred/weighed since 20 weeks (over 10 weeks ago!), but luckily will be doing that next week. Always something to worry about, huh?!!? They are probably fine (stop worrying Kristi!!!!)

Kareen, you look fabulous. I love the bump! I don't think mine is too much bigger than yours and I'm 13 weeks ahead of you! Show it proudly!!!!! I'll post a pic next week when DH comes back with the camera.

Racquel, I was going to say the same comment about a "stone'. It's kind of fun hearing all the different words/measurements that everyone around the world uses. I've gained 43 pounds now at 30 weeks (started out 5'9" and 130 pounds).

Hi All

For all you wonderful American ladies (I so wish I lived in USA, it's a plan DH and I are discussing) a stone = 14 pounds.
I absolutely love american words too.... Diaper, stroller etc. We've had this conversation!!!

Kristi I am sure your babies are fine and that you are a perfect size. I have always thought that I am not "that big" but people keep saying I'm huge. Everyone is different and I am sure your mind will be put at rest soon.
Any stretchmarks yet???

Kareen, you are blooming. I am starting to feel lazy and lethargic... can't be bothered to do my hair etc. I should make more of an effort.

Hayley, I always had that sneeky suspission too. In just a few weeks you may be able to find out. Are you going to ask or be suprised?

Hi to Racquel, Ange, Debz and anyone else I haven't spoken to recently. Lovely to hear from you.

angeWG.....congratulations on your twins....question for you(im nosey),... what weight were the little ones at birth?...did you go into labour or induced?... at what gestation were you?...see told ya... sorry i just like to prepare my brain...

well onto me.... i feel ok today... my back still hurts a little...but i suppose thats normal.... im going to buy myself a whole set of new fluffy pillows... 4 for each limb and one for my belly to relax when im lying on my side... i currently have 2 pillows in bed... 1 between my knees and the other between boobs/belly... ....but they are not fluffy enough... i want big fat ones...plus everytime i turn round i have to shake pillows and fluff them up...which annoys darren... ...but lets not go there....

Hi Kareen
I dont mind questions - I just love talking about my 2 little beautiful babies!

They were born by c-section at 38 weeks. The Consultant told me quite early on that I would deliver by 38 weeks.
Mollie Alice was arrived first weighing 5lb6 and Stefan Louis followed 2 minutes later at 5lb11.

They scanned me on the day to see how Stefan (then known as leftie) was laying - he was breech. They said that they could induce me but there were possible risks to him, as he may not turn and I could end up having an emergency c section as well as labour. I was not going to risk my babies health and didnt fancy going through both!

They were weighed today (18 weeks, which has flown past!) he is now 13lb she is 11lb15.

Best wishes
Ange

Post by kdc2006 »

angeWG....... the birth weight of your babies were good.... stefan and mollie.... georgous names by the way... :)

i would love to have a natural birth but i guess it all depends at the time... especially on position of the babies.... did you recover quickly after c-section?.....

im a little scared about what the future holds..but i guess as long as both babies are healthy.....thats the main thing...

thanks ange....

Hi Kareen

I promise you, the little prods will get alot stronger. I don't really feel kicks now. They are more like shove's. It's all rather alien like (but in a nice way). When I sit quietly, my tum moves about like an ocean wave and then a whole elbow or knee will stick out and you can't mistake it. It's the most lovely feeling. Although I cannot wait to meet the babes, I am really really going to miss them inside me.

My thoughts too are with our American friends today.
