Did I screw up?

Post by Luchia »

I went in on Wed for a scan and had 3 good sized follies in the left ovary and about 5-6 in the right.

On Thursday I went for a semi slow paced 16 mile ride on my mt bike on a smooth paved trail. I usually mt bike on rough, rocky single track trails but I thought I'd take it easy and stay on the paved trail.

Went back in today for a scan and there are only 2 follies on the left and 4 on the right!

I'm so sad right now... I was really praying that there would maybe even be a few more hiding in there. But now this!!!

Could my bike ride have caused this?

You sound like me. I am also a very active person but I cut down on everything but walks up until retrieval. I could not even walk slow 2 days before and had to rest on the bed. It was hard to do it but I had to force myself. Besides my right ovary was so heavy it would hurt every time I walked.

To address your Q, I doubt that your activity has anything to do w/ folly count. It could just be 2 different nurses doing the u/s. Pl. stop blaming yourself and take it easy. It wouldn't hurt to rest as you are paying big $$$ for treatment and hoping that the cycle would work.

Hey Lisa, It's me, your neighbor & email buddy. So sorry to hear your disappointing news today. I don't know what to think about your biking, but my thought is that it probably didn't cause your lower follicle count. The clinic didn't tell you to refrain from any form of exercise during this time, did they? I don't recall being told that (and we go to the same clinic). And you said it was mild biking. Take it easy and don't do things that make you wonder if they caused something to not work (for your peace of mind).

Maybe they didn't see all the follicles either. Are you still on schedule for the retreival on Mon or Tues, or are you going to do one more scan? Did they call you with the results and instructions today after your apt this AM?

No they did say that my normal activity was fine but I thought I'd ease up a bit and not ride the dirt trails.

ANyhow.... Thank you for easing my concerns girls!

My Egg retrieval is tomorrow at 8am.

How should I expect to feel physically after ER? Details here girls I need details.
