my 1st posting

hi, i've been reading the message board for the past few weeks but this is my first post. i came across this site in one of my low periods and wow what a lifelife. our potted history is 2 m/c's over the past 12 years, ectopic last year resulting in one tube removed. married 12 yrs. however like some other 'older' women i was caught up in a career and thought that the 2 m/cs were just not meant to be but it'll happen(m/c happens to lots of women or so i was told). had extensive tests at the recurrent miscarriage unit, st mary's hospital london and result was unexplained infertility. so, we were'nt prepared for the shock of our ectopic last year. we really believed that this pg was the one. anyway since then we've had two failed ivf's and a lot of expensive tests, treatment and consultants. i know that my age, 42, is against me and have been reminded of that on almost every occassion. it makes me scream inside. our last consultant told us to go away and let it happen naturally. oh r i g h t - we never thought of doing that. so we are in the process of changing consultants but staying with the same clinic. i dont know whether our next step will be natural, iui or ivf. anyway a long introduction to say hi and reading your messages, successes and deep support of each other has made me feel a lot less isolated. so thanks. phil

Hi Phil
Good idea about changing consultants sounds like you need a bit of fresh air! Just wanted to welcome you to the site, any info you need you can get here, along with a shoulder to cry on, or someone to let off steam with. Eveyone here knows the isolation you feel when your trying for a baby. All I can say is you and DH be strong together and it will happen, good luck and let us know how your getting on.
take care
Aly
x
