OCB2 for the "October dozen"

Posted at the end of OCB1 that I was going to start a new thread for the October "dozen" as last one was taking ages to open up. Keep on sniffing and stimming! This is the October dozen: Traci, Lorraine G, Dolly, kathryn, alisonb, grace, Lisa C, Lisa P, Kate W, vickib, beckydav and me. Have I missed anyone? If so,apologies. Others welcome to join us (though we will have to change our name!!!) beckym xxx

Hi ALL Well done Beckym for starting a new thread and listing us all down. I’m waiting for AF so I can start injecting she is due 27th and she'd better not keep me waiting. I am hoping to be going for EC and ET end of Oct in time with half term as my DH is a teacher. I have yet to use the chat room but agree it would be nice for us all to get together and have a good old goss. I'm still working full time at the mo but seem to spend every hour of my working day loggin on to this site for up-dates, its my new best friend. Good luck for tomorrow. Hope everyone is well. Well done becky, It was getting a bit long wasnt it! well I had my first yoga class last night and it was so relaxing , I am also having reflexology so I feel compleetly chilled, only 11 more days till I downreg and mandy is 15 more days , I have supercure burselin and it says that I have to inject the whole needle 0.5 is that right , im not sure as I had these drugs for my short protocol and am using them instead for this cycle , I will ring the day before I take it and find out cause I have to ring and let them know anyway. Hiya everyone else!!!! Its great to see how many there are of us in the ocb's we are going for 12 out of 12 positives girls I know we can do it . as for the oldies its nice to be cycling again , it feels kinda safe when you are with others that have been there when you had been there, if that makes sence and we can hopefully help anyone who is on their first go Well greatest wishes everyday for all of you , and have a great weekend. Great idea Becky! I am still stabbing away every night though at least Oct 7th (first scan) IS getting closer. Not sure what will happen then, apparently at Kings we will be told to start Gonal F 'sometime within two weeks' after the scan subject to the Buserelin doing its job properly. I too was hoping for a half term EC / ET as both DH and myself are teachers! It all seems very vague at the moment, guess I just have to go with the flow! Hope AF arrives on time Vicki B, good luck Traci when you get going, Becky M what stage are you at now? Hi girls Here we go ................. Scary but glad to have started again. I am one of those people who tends to put things off, knew I wanted to do another cycle but still anxious about it. Well, no going back now. I started doing Yoga a few months ago and finding it really useful and enjoyable. I am also trying acupuncture. Anything to relax me a bit really as I do get a bit stressed out with all of this. Anyone else trying alternatives? Traci, I inject Buselin too. 0.5 for me too. It works out at about half the syringe for me. Perhaps our needles are different? I imagine you did n't use it for your short protocol. I find it fine and it means you don't have to sniff a few times a day, one shot and it is all done. Hopefully will be going for baseline scan next week. In the meantime have a lovely weekend everyone and speak soon. Love Gracexx

hi to the other 11 of us occy dozen! had my 1st scan today. everything okie doke. have lots of little follies one side and a biggie on the other (this is natural fet) got to start testing for my surge from tomorrow. once ive surged it will be 3 days and then theyll pop back our embies! starting to get really excited!!!!!!!! last time frosties didnt make the thaw, but with 15 in the freezer, Im hoping some of my little embies will be alright! wishing us all our little baby dreams come true ! love kathryn x

Hi everybody Beckym I started injecting Buserelin twice a day on the 20th and don't go for a scan until the 14th Oct, if all is well I will also start injecting Menopur from the 15th Oct. I feel like I am going a long time without being seen. I am sure I had more scans last time round. July Ann thanks for your good wishes. Kathryn so pleased everything is going well. Hi there all 11 OCBs Let's hope we all get +++++++++ives. I started sniffing Buserelin 3 times a day last Wednesday - is anyone getting any side effects, I have a dull headache which I'm putting down to the sniffing. I am going for my baseline on October 16th - if all well start injecting ont he 17th!! I'm doing my first donor iui treatment and if all goes well will have insemination on the 27th Oct which would be excellent as I'm a teacher and the time off work would be excellent to relax. Lorriane - fellow teacher, how are you doing with getting time off work? I read in the term and conditions the other day that they cannot use your time for hospital appoints etc against your sickness record - if so could be done for sex discrimination. Having said that, so far my work has been fine. So is there anyone else within our happy dozen who is going through this for the first time like me? I sooooooooo want it to work and it's great reading all the +ives in SCBs and yet I want to be realistic. DH and I even looked at prams today in Mothercare when we went in to by a present - MAD ! I hope everyone is feeling fine and optimistic Let's continue to use this thread to help with the PMA take care Lisa x x

Hi everyone Grace. thanks for your good wishes. hysteroscopy was yesterday and I had a general so feeling very groggy indeed afterwards but they said everything was fine which is a relief though had a bit of bleeding afterwards which they said was normal but not sure how that affects my downregging. have baseline tomorrow so I guess I will find out then. maybe will have to downreg a bit longer. must admit i was a bit confusd when they started me on downregging even though they had set me up for the hysteroscopy but hopefully they know what they are doing! Lisa_P - I'm also sniffing Buserlin and had headache on Fri/Sat but took paracetomol and it went away. Lisa Ch - do you use the automatic pen/gun for Menopur injections? I read somewhere that one of the girls was injecting menopur without the gun. I used Gonal_F last time with a pen which didn't find too bad - just a bit fiddly with the mixing but not sure I could do it without a pen! Don't know what they are putting me on this time. Good luck to all those waiting to start and to Kathryn re the surge testing! beckym xxx

I used gonal f with a pen but this clinic use menopur without a pen aparently they said it dosent fit!!!Gutted as the pen was so easy to use. hangover today so cant type much!!!!!! Making cards today in quiet! Trace x

traci, i used menopur with the gun/pen thing. they come in ampules and you just suck it up with a syringe, change needle ends then....bang! hope your hangover was worth it! becky, I had hysteroscopy wthOUT any knocking out!...my own fault! they said I was only allowed a local and that meant sticking a needle up my minx! wasnt up for that! hope your baseline is all ok tomorrow. what is everones background? its gets really confusing at the begining of a cycle buddy thread, was wandering what tmt everyone else has been through so far etc. thought it would be a good way to get to know each other a little better! dolly, havent heard from you for a while, is everything ok? when do you get going? kathryn x

Hi, I have been posting on my thread 'new to site & 2nd IVF & I think some of u may have replied to me so thank you. I have just started sniffing buserelin on Thursday last & yes Lisa i get headaches & a horrible taste in my mouth which puts me off my food. I am going for my baseline on 9th oct. and hopfully injecting (with pen)Puregon. I have found that my body has changed since IVF - my boobs have gone up one cup size (never went down since 1st IVF) and my tummy gets huge, I can't fit into most of my clothes pre 1st IVF anymore.I know this may sound trival, but when IVF didn't work the last time i really felt lost, I wasn't the new self (pregnant)I was hopeing for and yet I wasn't my old self either, which was reflected in my body changes left after the treatment. Does anyone else feel this way? Take care everyone & speak soon. FrancesXX
