Hi Ladies I am new to this site and I just thought I'd finally make an entry as I'm feeling low and fed up and need some words of encouragement. DH and I have been trying for 1 1/2 years and I've had all the tests done to check my fertility and as far as I know I'm fine but DH has sperm problems. For the first year we were seeing a Naturopath and taking herbs and suppliments I was convinced we would fall pregnant but unfortunately it didn't happen, although it did fix the sperm motility for my DH but he still has poor morphology. We are both now having accupunture over next 2 months (him for fertility and me for fertility/insomnea as I'm now having sleeping problems!) and will be going straight to IVF at the end of the year if we don't fall before hand. Is there anyone else out there who's husband has sperm problems and are planning on going IVF in the next few months? I have been told it's better to go IVF rather than IUI if there are sperm problems.
First of all welcome to the site! I've only just joined myself but have been reading posts for a while, everyone is really helpful. Why don't you post your story on the general forum where I'm sure you'll get lots of responses
My situation is similar to yours - I've had lots of tests done and appear to be ok, hubby has lsc due to previous vasectomy. I have done acupuncture in the past and I found it very helpful, also took multivits and DH took lots of zinc - he was also prescribed some very horrible tasting herbs by our acupunturist!
Our last treatment ended in a BFP but sadly I miscarried. We've since moved house and I'm on the lookout for a good acunpuncturist and have an appt with new clinic in November.
The chances are they will ask you to do ICSI if there are sperm problems, I know alot has been said about taking Zinc to improve sperm "issues" - a friend of a friend told me her son-in-law has extremely low count (less than 2 million) - he took Zinc for 6 mths and they conceived naturally. They were one of the very very lucky ones!!!
Anyway good luck in your next treatment and hope you find some helpful advice here

Thanks for your reply. Yes I have been reading posts for a while too and thought it was now time for my own input. It's such a great site and good therapy for us all being in the similar situations.
Has your husband had any accupunture treatment for his low sperm count? From what I hear it can help for that as well. If so, was there any improvement? When you had IVF did you go ICSI each time? Is the success rate higher with ICSI?
I have taken your advise and forwarded my previous post to the general forum.
Good luck finding a new accupuncturist and hopefully we'll talk again in the general forum.
There are issues with me and my husband. I am for the most part annovulatory and unfortunatly, my Dh has azoospermia from Congenital absence of the vas. We will never be able to have kids naturally. We sill be starting IVF/ICSI next month. The same day they retrieve my eggs, at the same time and place they will be surgically extracting sperm from my DH. We are both scared and excited. Have you discussed your options with your Dr.?
