Congrats on the BFP. I'm not sure aboiut the chlorine, however I carried twin boys for a term of 35 weeks IVF. I didn't do an heavy lifting or anything strenuous...took it easy for 6mths...early maternity leave to to complications...you may not have any complications, try to shower and not take any hot baths or get in any hot tubs/saunas...Deli meat\microwave it for at least 40-60 seconds to kill listeria. God Bless

I've been concerned too---seems like there's so much to remember! I was worried about the bath thing, but I read in several books that baths are okay as long as the temperature is under 104 degrees...also the same with exercise---cardio is usually okay as long as your body doesn't overheat. And of course, no sushi.
One thing I've found is that my body seems to be telling me what to do or not to do. We went out last night and I took just a sip of my DH's beer and it tasted horrible. Just nasty. And of course, the smells of certain foods are just killer. So I suppose if in doubt, trust what your body is telling you????
Anyway, congrats on the BFP and I wish you the best.
I'm pretty sure swimming is ok. In fact it is recommended as your pregnancy progresses.
I've always dyed by hair during pregnancy but for some reason I've avoided the first trimester. My sister is a hairdressers and she said the only problem which can happen is your normal colour may not take like it usually does. A perm is a no no.
Think you're pretty spot on with your list. Add homemade mayo to it.
Relax and enjoy your pregnancy.
All the best
Jo

Ellie was born on 11 December 2006, 14 weeks early!
Thanks Jo, Justine and Meg that's great. Loved the bit about the newborn lambs Justine!! must add that to my list tee hee.
I checked out the hair dye thing and was told by a reliable source its an old wives tale so went ahead and got half head done yesterday. But everything else I am staying off. Think I'll wait a bit until swimming - might as well relax and be lazy whilst I can

Hello ladies! First a big congrats to you all!
Bathing is ok has long as the water is around 80-90 degrees. Swimming is great, but keep the cardio low. I would do 8 laps at a medium pace 2 times a week and 3 days a week I would walk laps in the pool, marching or stopping and squating. This helps to strengthen your cervical muscles for delivery.
Believe it or not Drs. say that 1 glass of wine a day is actually good for your baby and safe, I personally hate wine but I have read this in several articles.
Fruit is excellent, but again I have read in several places that too much fruit is bad.
If I think of anything else I will let you know. Enjoy your pregnancies ladies and best of luck to you and your families!

Congratulations Lis!!! I'm sure you're still on cloud nine!
I just grabbed a couple highly suggested pregnancy books and for the most part the girls have covered everything. So many Dr's and books say different things that I think we have to just stick to the obvious no-no's and guage everything else according to our bodies and Dr.'s.
Hope you enjoy a happy and healthy pregnancy!
