LISA - I live no where near D.C.; I live in Indiana. I'm just willing to travel that far for treatment. It is a 10 hour drive (exactly!):? The clinic, Shady Grove Fertility, actually has 8 locations in the D.C. area, and I'll be going to their Rockville location. I will go back sometime around the end of February, I think. I am to call w/AF & schedule then. Of course, I have my fingers crossed that all the pre cycle tests will be good. Haven't heard the results from the U/S & HSG yet, still have to do mock ET & mock EEP & endo biopsy. Of course, we have to repeat DH's S.A. & all our infectious disease tests too The list nevers ends!
SONIA - I read the posts earlier, made myself some tea & came back & posted w/out reading again. Apparently you posted about an hour before me & I didn't read it, or I would have had the answer to my question. I don't know what to advise re the HPT. The HCG will probably be gone & some pee stix are supposed to be pretty sensitive; detecting HCG <25. (They used to give a neg on anything <50) Whichever way you go, just let us know. I know I speak for everyone when I say we are all hoping & praying for your BFP.

So glad to see many progresses here. Sonnia, if you are doing peeonstick, do it twice, 24 h apart, if the intensity of the second line increases, you are positive for sure, good luck!
LuAnne, glad to know you are about start treatment. 10h driving is incredible to me. My friend went from Nashvillle to Chicago, but she flew and stayed there from stimulation to the end of ET. I wish it could be easier for you. Best luck!
Kat, hope your ET goes well, it's exciting and hopeful. I feel your positive spirit towards your new cycle, this is already half way to success.
Cathrine, everything you are doing is effective, whichever can calm you the most would be the one to stick with. I believe one's inner peace and acceptance of any outcome is the key to success. Wish you get what you want soon.
Bev, Tammy, and Anna, I am still preg, I have not seen my little girl by US for too long. I go to see my OBs every 2 weeks since 32 weeks and then every week from 36 weeks, which starts from this week - I am seeing different one each time in the last three times. It is the policy of my clinic, I will have 3 more new OBs to meet in the next 3 weeks, if I can hold that long. Nothing new except the belly gets bigger each day! I still go swimming though, but in a slower motion and once a week only since last week. I will have 3.5 more weeks to go and two more classes about birth choices, although I have already made my mind. I am going semi-natural birth with the help of a light epidural if needed and nothing awful turns up in the next few weeks.
Tammy, how did your baby shower go? Had fun to wash those tiny clothes? Happy nesting! Have you made your birth chioce yet?
All the best everyone else here!

Wow am away for the weekend and the posts are really flying...I will need to read up and answer personals when i have more time.sorry everyone.
Sonia -My clinic gives HPT for their patients and they say... for an HPT to work it MUST be 17 days after last HCG injection ( even if a small ammount) for it to be out of your sytem. Otherwise you will get a false positive...4 more days Honey until your results come back...fingers and toes crossed for a BFP!!!
I have an update on BEV... this was posted on the other site...I hope she won't mind me passing her good news on!!! Bev sends her kindest regards to everyone and thanks for all
the enquiries. Well the good news is: she's given birth to an
absolutely gorgeous baby boy: Wiliam Edward John weighing 5lb 2oz and
both mother and baby are doing well. He arrived at week 35 rather early
and Bev's been in hospital for over 2 weeks already due to high blood
pressure and hoping to go home next Wednesday. She had a Cesearean
Section because it was too early to induce.
She hopes to post herself next week.
CONGRATULATIONS BEV!!!
The sking was good although it was wettish and windy on the sunday so didn't really do much. Just good to get away but hate coming back to the laundry and washing!!!
love to everyone

Yasmina - Fortunately DH does all the driving. We discussed flying vs. driving. We want to have transportation, though we could rent a car. Since we are using an ED, we don't actually have to be there for ER, as they will have DH's frozen sperm to use. Since we don't know whether we'll have a Day 3 ET or Day 5 Blast Tfr until after fertilization, we figure it is better to drive. We can be ready to go, & when we get the call, we'll head that way. We really only want to be gone as long as is absolutely necessary; DH is self employed & hates to leave his clients high & dry for too long! When I did IVF in CA, I had to book my airline tickets to allow for such a long window, I ended up being in SF for a very long time. I love SF, but there's no place like home! I spent 2 weeks + in a hotel. DH & I talked to the doctor about the 10 hour drive, & he said as long as I rest in bed for a minimum of 24 hrs. after ET, I'm free to travel afterwards. Of course, we will probably wait 48 hrs. & we plan to break up the return trip so I get enough R & R. I don't think it will be that hard on me since I am only a passenger.
Bev- CONGRATULATIONS!!! Hopefully you'll read this page. I hope you are doing okay, & of course, I hope you will soon feel well enough to post a picture of your new bundle of joy. Take care!

Bev: Congrats on the birth of your baby boy! I hope that you are doing well.
Yasmina: I have not yet made my birth plan, but am planning on having an epidural. The baby shower was lots of fun, but I have a dining room full of baby gear to put away. I have one more 2 week appt. next Thursday, and will then begin my 1 week appts. after that.
Wanda: Great news regarding your donor. Keep us updated.
LuAnne: Good luck on your cycle. That is a long drive from IN to DC. I used to complain about my drive, which was a 1.5 hour drive one way.
I can't wait to post the little guy's photo in color!
Jen: Thanks for the update on Bev. I'm glad that you had a nice time skiing.
Sonia: How is the 2WW going? Try to relax. Many women have no pregnancy symptoms at all early on.
Kat: How are you doing? I bet you are getting excited about your upcoming cycle.
Catharine: I'm getting close to 43 too. Don't give up. I did not do acupuncture, massages or take herbs. However, I did have an HSG x-ray. That is where they shoot dye through your tubes to check for blockages. I did not have any blockages, but for some reason I think it may have cleaned out my uterus. We got pregnant naturally that very next cycle, while waiting to do a frozen IVF cycle.
Ali: Welcome back. Glad to hear that you are going for another round.
Hello to Lisa, Anna, Randa and anyone else that I may have missed.
I am in the homestretch now. Andrew measured 1 week ahead at our last OB appt. this past Thursday. I would be happy if he came a couple of weeks early, as it is getting difficult to get good sleep now. I have to get up every hour.
Take care all,
Tammy

Lu ann good luck with tmt...It's sounds that your on the right track with Dh is driving and your rest for 48hrs after ET...Fingers crossed for all your Feb pre test for tmt cycle Honey x x Your right the list never ends especially when you change clinics... I have ll theat still to sort out!!! (help )
anna how are you? you haven't posted for a while i hope all is well? Or are you just loving being Blooming with pregnancy
Kat How are you excited one!!! Down reg going okay? When do you start other inj?
catharine Acu is great it really helped me on my 2nd ivf cycle...i also did Zita's liver detox diet for 10 days a month before starting each tmt...It helped me feel clear headed.
Love and hugs to everyone else i haven't mentioned.
here's a question for all you donor Eggs cycle girls...My 1st own egg ivf was cancelled as i had such a bad response to the down reg. I had agonising headaches and was in such pain i couldn't function properly. Subsequently my follie response was nil. The down reg med was trytiteline. For the next 2 own egg cycles i was put on a short /flare or cetrotide cycle. I was fine as my eggs were just supresssed from ovulating with the cetrotide. If we are going to ISIDA ( probably june) what sort of down reg do they use does anyone know? and has anyone elses response to down reg been similar? Are all down regs the same???
A load of questions i know I am off to my parents this week and hope to log in at some pioint. If not will catch you all on the 7th FEB.
have a good week everyone

Bev if you're reading this - congratulations!! The first one for ages and the start of what we hope will be an ongoing list of successes!
Anna - good to hear from you - was getting a bit concerned you hadn't posted for a while
Jen - I am on buserelin and it is giving me what I call a fuzzy head rather than headaches - I suppose all the meds affect different people in different ways. In other cycles I had all sorts of different things like sniffing synarel and that had no ill effects at all - I would think if you ask the clinic and tell them you had problems with it before then they might have an alternative for you to try. Bev of course is the ISIDA expert but she is probably a bit busy at the moment..! I had bcp from IM, same as Anna but this time different clinic, different ways of doing things.
Sonia - keeping everything crossed for you, hope to hear some good news soon
Wanda - looks like we are running on the same schedule - when do you have your next scan?
As for me, I am doing my injections with no problems at all, DH has booked in for his blood tests (finally!) and we are well on the way.
I lost a whole 1lb at slimming world last week - woo hoo! Hopefully this week's weigh-in will be a bit better.
We have 3 pg girls at work now and one who I am sure is about to announce it - I still have problems with it and can't talk to them incase they mention it - is this just me or does everyone feel like this? If I was pg would I no longer fell this way?
One last thing - call me thick but what exactly do you do at a baby shower? Everyone comes round and gives you gifts for the baby? And why is it called a shower?
Hi to everyone I haven't mentioned
Lots of love

Kat: I'm sure that once you get pregnant, other pregnant women will not bother you. They call it a shower, since everyone showers you with gifts for the baby, I think. At my shower, we had finger foods and cake, we played games with prizes and I opened my gifts. It can be a good time. You can also have a couples shower where it is an evening event. Mine was on a Sat. afternoon.
Anna: Glad to hear that you and baby are doing well.
Jen: Have a nice time at your parents.
Bev: I hope to see pictures of your little guy soon.
Hello to everyone else.

Bev, CONGRATULATIONS on your bundle of joy! You’ve made it! Hope you are now back home and doing well. Looking forward to hearing from you soon!
We were up at 5.30 this morning to drive to the clinic before work but don’t get the results until tomorrow morning. These are some of the longest hours of my life!
No signs of AF yet. Considering my 3 IUIs and previous IVF cycle, I’ve never been to test date without AF showing up. However, Jen’s advice and remembering what Anna went through has changed my mind about doing a HPT. I’m now trying to stay calm and force myself to keep things in perspective. Must be prepared, whatever the outcome...
Thanks so much everyone for your kind words and wishes.
Hugs all round
Love

Sonia: That's terrible that they make you wait overnight for the results. My clinic always did the test in the morning and then gave you the results in the afternoon of the same day. That is good that you had no signs of AF. With my 2 failed IVF's, I had AF signs right around the time of my pregnancy testing. On my 2nd IVF, I could not wait and I took a HPT. Of course it was negative but I think that prepared for the bad news.
Please relax and let us know your results tomorrow.
Take care all,
Tammy

Wanda- Kat I sent you an email. I am on day 18 of Lupron and had bloodwork and ultrasound done yesterday waiting for results today. I think I may be on Lupron for 2 weeks more. Uterus is thin and ovaries are suppressed.

IF YOU DONATE BLOOD AT THE "RED CROSS" THEY CAN GIVE YOU A PRINT OUT FOR "FREE" OF ALL THE INFECTSCIOUS DISEASES....IT'S PROBABLY THE ONLY THING I GOT FOR FREE IN THIS WHOLE PROCESS. I TOLD MY CLINIC...AND ALL THE RN'S TO TELL THE NEW CLIENTS THIS INFO TOO, BECAUSE WHEN YOU START ADDING UP ALL THE VARIOUS "PRETESTING" IT CAN SAVE YA AT LEAST A COUPLE BUCKS.
Well, we didn’t make it – it’s a BFN. I hate having to post this news.
AF didn’t arrive, still hasn’t, which gave me a real surge of hope and makes it all the more difficult now. I know the chances for us were so very low and it was like expecting a miracle but it’s the second time that we’ve had a perfect embie put back. We’re to make an appointment with our consultant, who happens to be away this week, but at the moment we’re just feeling really unlucky and don’t really know where we’ll be going from here.
I’ve hardly slept in 2 nights and had to go into work straight after getting the news. My MIL has just had her 70th birthday so we’ve had a full house this evening preparing for the party tomorrow. Have had to suppress my feelings all day.
I’m sorry to be so down but we so tried to stay hopeful this time. Thank you all so much for your support. It still gives me strength not to give up.
