Update:

Situation seems to have changed. Went to the bathroom and found quite obvious spotting. Very dark brown. I usually get that before my period. I'll continue with the progesterone of course, but it doesn't look too bright right now. We'll see how the bleeding evolves overnight. Definitely prepared for the worst right now.

Shantala I'm not giving up hope, but I try not to get my hopes up too much. It's just a pain to cry it out once and know that you might have to cry it out again just the same two days later. I'm really looking to put this behind me, one way or the other.

Macca: quite honestly, it's hard to know what to think in the first place. I've done some research and some clinics report that 50% of their pregnant patients had spotting prior to their test and even after. Spotting could be caused by my uterus shifting from being estrogen-dependent to progesterone-dependent. Some report that the pressies themselves can cause spotting. And there's always the possibility that this old blood is one twin that didn't make it and is simply flowing out. Still spotting, about the size of a quarter, and still dark brown. Other than that, status quo. Thanks for the wishes dear and I hope you're doing great!

Well, yet another update for me ladies...

Things definitely don't look good. I've upgraded my panty liners to pads now, towards 1pm. Towards 4:30pm I found bigger spotting, still dark brown, but then when I wiped... it was fiery red. And I had some definite cramping in the afternoon that was uncomfortable. Definitely losing at least one baby at this point. It even feels silly to put the progesterone in, but I'll do it. It's only two more doses till the test anyway.

So that's it ladies, looks like my first time will be a BFN. All I hope at this point is that I cried the most of it now and will only get better from now on. I'm still at work and I'll call my husband to tell him the news... I hope we'll find a nice movie to rent tonight so I can take my mind off this. I'll just have to find a couple of projects that really excite me and keep me busy and I'll be just fine. It will be great to be able to write again now that my mind will be away from the IVF ride. And it looks like I have a couple of pounds to lose now (darn hormones) so I'll work on that, too. If I look on the bright side, it seems that I won't have to wait too much for AF... one down, another one to go and I'll be allowed to do a natural FET (at least that's what the nurse suggested the next step for us would be).

I'll tell you ladies about the results as soon as I get them. I press you all against my heart and wish you a lovely evening!

sophie: so sorry to hear the bleeding has become heavier and brighter. Hoping for you that this is just one baby. It's not over 'til the fat lady sings... and my mouth is staying shut

. having said that, i can understand that you are preparing yourself... as i would do in your situation. So hang in there... spend some good relaxing time w/dh. Know i am thinking of you, and will be looking for your news tomorrow.

Sophie i really hope that this is implantation bleeding but i was told that some ladies do bleed all the way through pregnancey good luck tomorrow i really hope you get your BFP hugs
