Newbie Q. re FET preparation

Post by DebraP »

Hi, I'm new today and just wanted to say 'WOW!' this looks like a very supportive group. I can see that several people are starting FET in January, we hope to as well. My Q. is for a natural cycle what, if any, preparation can I do? I won't have a consultation with the clinic until I go for my first uterine scan (plus I live in a non-English language country) so don't have any info on what I could be doing to get ready/improve my chances etc.

If I can be a source of info here are my details: I'm 39.5 and have a 6m old following a successful first time IVF attempt in Aug.02.

Here's hoping.
DebraP

Newbie Q. re FET preparation

Post by DebraP »

Hi, I've no idea of what's right or wrong on these sites – yell if I go wrong! Gem, re. your Q. We've only got 4 eggs waiting. From our first egg retrieval (9), 8 fertilised, 2 too much so, 4 were frozen, 2 were implanted, 1 took. We're with a (private) clinic in Norway so can decide timing ourselves. Treatment cost is about double the UK but we do get some of the drug costs back. My DF was a student until last year so this was huge for us.

Great news that you're at the top of the NHS list for next year. Re. getting a positive though, I'm not going to be much help. I was sterilised 12 years ago (married to someone else) so had to go this route to try for a baby.

Thanks for your quick reply and positive thoughts.
love
Debra.
