Hi there,I was wondering if anyone could advise, quick history,I am 36 and have endometriosis,I have had one unsucessful IVF last month and am considering whether to change clinics (1st attempt at Holly House).Having seen that AGRC has good results and also having read most of the postings on this site I thought I would go for a consultation and then decide.(thanx for that suggestion Phil)
Obviously I would like to see Mr T,however a rather abrupt receptionist informed me that she could not guarantee this!
Is this normally what happens,I know its a busy clinic but I really want to have the best advice as I dread another negative!!!
If any of you girls from ARGC read this I would really appreciate your advice.
Thanks Magnus
Hi Magnus

The ARGC definetly get good results. I'm on my second treatment there.

Brief history - some endo but unexplained infertilityk, 3 failed IUI at Bridge Centre, 1 failed IVF and 3 failed ICSI's at Queen Mary's, Roehampton. Nothing changed with our treatment so did a bit of research and went to ARGC.

We didn't get to see Mr T for our first consultation, they are very thorough during treatment. Have to go up there for daily blood tests and then usually have scans every second day.

We are in the middle of our second go of ICSI there - last time had a very weak positive but turned negative 2 days later. They do think implantation took place and that's the furthest we've come.

We haven't seen Mr T for any consultations, he did one of my scans and my EC this time (on Monday this week). But he does look at everybody's notes and he makes the decision on your treatment so even if you don't see him personally he monitors your treatment closely.

They are a very busy clinic and won't guarantee an appointment with Mr T but the other doctors are all lovely too.

A bit of a long one but if you've any more questions just ask.

Best of luck
Jen
Hi magnus

I agree with everything jen has said. This was my second ICSI attempt (mf problem) but first at the ARGC and we got a +ve!! Am due to go up for my 6-week scan on Tuesday.

You may or may not see Mr T on your first appointment - we didn't, but the doctor we saw was very helpful and efficient. They have around five doctors there. Mr T did at least 4 of my scans during my treatment and my embryo transfer (I think he does all the embie transfers himself) and he does check the blood results every day and make a decision on each patient - he's a workaholic!! He's also on the end of his mobile phone if you have an emergency - I spoke to him at 7am on Tuesday!! My relatives keep on saying they cannot believe the difference in monitoring you get at the ARGC from my old clinic - world's apart. You even get monitored (scans, BTs etc) over the weekend!!

nurses/receptionists can seem a bit abrupt at first till you get to know them but they have their work cut out cos it is such a busy clinic but the good news is you don't generally have to wait to start your cycle and they program the cycle to suit you, not the clinic. One word of warning though, at my last clinic they started me immediately without checking hormones on the start day. At the ARGC they don't start you until your hormones are right which can be a bit frustrating but as Mr T says "it's not a race"!! I had to wait a couple of months to start sniffing until he was happy with my hormones from my blood results. He said it would have been pointless starting during the other months.

I wish you all the best and hope you get a +ve next time round!!! becky
