Eggs and Donors

I know that no one usually posts on this site butthought I would give it a go. Just trying to get as much info as possible on egg donors. DH and I are going down this route. We are on a waiting list but want to try and speed things up a bit. If anyone has info on any ideas to help eg. advertising, we would be really grateful for your ideas and experiences, Thanks, Lou

I am currently having a donor egg from my cousin so I am very lucky but I had a think and in my salon there are alot of femails and they are very interested when i tell them that people are crying out for donors, perhaps you should try some leaflets there. Trace x Good Luck

Hi Lou sorry I havent go back to you sooner , we we started a few weeks ago and Mandy started her stimms on Wednesday and she has her first scan on wednesday 5th , I also am being checked over for the linning of the womb on wednesday also , so I wont be sleeping a wink on tuesday night I can tell you. her Fsh is 6.4 and her dose is 225 so I expect she will respond ok !!! all we can do is hope! have you had any luck yet? Hi Trace, Just noticed that you had posted on this part of the site again, thanks! I am waiting for AF so that we can try again. I know that I ovulated last month as I had progesterone tested. Just can't quite believe that if that is the case then it is not possible to collect one follicle. DH and Ia re going to try a natural cycle with IVF, and clomid so that if there is one follicle they will go for collection. I have been such a poor responder and FSH usually around 10 but the Lister are happy for me to give this a go. After that I think we will have to go for donor egg. No response from ad. place in OK magazine but we have been on waiting list for one year now. Think you are going for a scan day after tomorrow so all the very best, not long until you are on 2ww now, Good Luck, Lou

Its great news that they are going to try and do one more protocol at least then you know you have done everything before DE, Ive not heard of that protocol before but you only need 1 to fertilise and latch on so you have just as much chance as anyone else. My clinc told me today that Mandy has 14 follis and has her last scan on Friday morning so it looks as though EC should be Monday and ET Wednesday, am very excieted now as I think it all sounds very positive . Hi Lou, There is a web site www.donatingeggs.co.uk that was set up by a woman looking for donated eggs. You will find lots of information there and info on how to advertise such as what you can and can't put in it ect as well as being able to put an advert on there for yourself. It is a long and labourious process of waiting for a donor to come along and I feel that any little thing we can do to get one quicker can only be a good thing. It also helps you feel a little more in control than perhaps we are.... Good luck Carol

i will be starting my 4th icis treatment next week, unfortunately age is not on my side i will be 43 next month, i have put my name down for egg donation (at least 18mth waiting list) has anyone look down the route of going abroad for egg donation?

I currently live in greece and had ovarian failure 6 yrs which was not detected for some time since then i have been through all the usual stuff trying to get pregnant, i finally accepted that egg donation was my only option and found a really nice clinic here in greece where the waiting list is only 4/6 months long and only a month long in Athens. The eggs are shared between 2 people which brings the cost down to about 2 thousand pounds. Wish me luck

but I still do not give up

I too have decided to go on a waiting list, currently not on it as looking at the different clinics. But I have had a few ivf treatments but none as yet have worked. I had a break for two years and really needed it. Only started posting here recently and what a help all the girls have been. There is always advice or support if you need it. Just wanted to say I am soon to have my ET on my first Cycle of Egg Donor IVF. Even though I had a donor on my behalf and I have paid for treatment the wait has been so long to find a donor. I wish you luck on your journey jill x

Hi Jjj,
Thanks for the reply, I think my Donors EC and DH sample will be Wednesday or Thursday next week which would make my ET Friday or Saturday. I just hope my lining is thick enough to carry on, I had real problems down regging and they put me on another drug plus the spray to bring on another AF! I am now on spray and drugs to build the lining up. Take care love Jill x

Thanks Jjj,
I rang my nurse today to air my worries about my lining not being thick enough for ET. She said that it is possible to up my drugs if it isn't thick enough which is good love Jill x
