back pain

Post by meg12 »

I've been having horrible lower back pain the last two days. It's so low I'd almost call it butt pain, but that doesn't sound right! It feels like a pulled muscle in that it hurts only if I move in certain ways or if I raise my left leg. That sends shooting pain down my back all the way down my leg. It goes away after I sleep at night, so mornings are fine but by about midday it's back.... Anyone else having this problem???????

Sounds awful Mego... Could it be sciatica??? I have looked it up on the what to expect when your expecting site (here's the link http://www.whattoexpect.com/pregnancy/s ... atica.aspx ) There are some tips on how to deal with it but it sounds like a third trimester thing...dammit.

Hope you feel better soon.

Thanks for the replies...The pain is much better today. Did the pain come and go for you, Crasmus?

Definitely sciatica. "They" say if you get it, you're pretty much stuck with it for the duration of the pregnancy. I had it from the beginning (now 20w5d), and it definitely hasn't gone away. Some days are better than others. It's rough, I have to say. Some days I'm walking like a 90-year-old woman. I've had prenatal massage and have gone swimming and have been doing yoga - it all helps, but mostly short term.

yes it seemed to depend on the amount of activity or walkiing.. it seemed the more that i did the worse it was... the chiro helped me alot, altho i do have to say that we are 6 weeks post baby, and still having the shotting pain and my legs just kinda giving out...

take care and get as many back rubs as you can
