2nd scan fine!!

Post by Di »

Hi,
Had my 2 scan yesterday at 10 weeks. Was really apprehensive as after 6th tmt there was no heartbeat despite there having benn on previous 2 scans!
So I'm sure you can imagine the state I was in yesterday afternoon!! In fact I was sure I wouldn't have a full enough bladder with the frequent trips to the loo and then being sick!!!
But then I got taken and there was my wee one waving! It was brilliant and such a relief. The only down side was that DH couldn't be there as he's away in London all week on a course! But he got to hear all about it when he phoned last night!
Di

Hi Di

That's fab news - it must have been such a relief after your previous loss. A quarter of the way there now! Up until 12 weeks, the time seemed to go quite slowly for me, but since then its been whizzing by, and every week that goes by, it just seems a little bit more real!

Bet you cant' wait for your DH to get home!

Love

Rachel
x

Di,

I am so pleased that your scan went well, I can only imagine what you must of been thinking, it's bad enough for someone who asn't lost a baby but when you go through something like you it must be terrible. I worry over the slightest thing. I do have to agree with Rach the first 12 weeks went so slow but now the weeks are wizzing past and it won't be long before you will be holding your baby in your arms. Roll on for your Dh to get home.

Luv
Shell.
xx

2nd scan fine!!

Di I'm so relieved and happy for you - we all go through the mill when it's scan time dont we, convincing ourselves something is wrong!! Brilliant that it's fine.

I don't know whether you read my post B4, and you might not want to do it anyway, but my dh and I have found real comfort in the fact that we hired a doppler for £30 per month and just every now and again when I have felt a bit apprehensive, just a few seconds and I can hear the strong heartbeat - it makes me feel so happy again. We haven't been obsessively listening, just perhaps once per week and for just a few seconds each time. It has really made a difference to my peace of mind. Also it meant my husband can hear it as he can't accompany me on midwife visits and scans are so long in between.

It's just that first few months before you can feel the baby move that it's definately been a comfort. I think I have just started to feel our baby fluttering now (20 wks) so will probably send the doppler back in the next couple of weeks. Well, might do.

Hope this is helpful - the company I obtained it from is Babybeats, and it was ordered over the internet (babybeats.com).

Lots of Love - Jo. XXXXX

Thanks Jo for that info on the doppler - I'll def talk it over with DH when he gets home tomorrow! It seems like a really good idea and like you say gives you that little bit of reassurance that everything is ok!! Must be a brilliant feeling getting those first flutterings - enjoy them!
I asked the radiographer for a 2nd scan picture so I could send it down to DH in London along with a little birthday card as it was also his b/day the day of the scan! Well I was all so excited that he would recieve it yesterday morning before his course started - but whose on strike in London at the mo? .... bloody posties! So best laid plans and all that! Good job I got 2 scan pics and didn't send down the only one I got - not that I'd trust the Royal Mail with something so precious!!! lol.
Di
