Hi Guys :)
Thanks for all your messages. Sorry I've been missing. I can't get on here at work and then had to go and babysit my niece and nephew so have only just got in.

Rang clinic this afternoon - they don't routinely do bloods. They would do it if I really wanted but I don't think I'll bother. Afterall, it won't change the outcome and I'd rather carry on thinking positive than worry about what the numbers mean. Booked a scan for 13th Dec which will be 6w2d I think, is that right?

The cat says 'thanks for the concern' and the other 2 are just relieved they were out this morning :D (yes, I've got 3).
Not sure it's sunk in yet, keep finding myself grinning insanely when I think about it.
Will catch up with personals soon - so many posts today I haven't had time to read them all.
Thankyou all for your support - I'm so pleased I found such a wonderful bunch of friends

nimble wrote:blimely steph, cant keep up with you   Now this a dumb arse question, but is that where boxing day name comes from then??? Just another day of food and drink to me and a day off work ......yyeeeeepppppeeeee    can't be bothered with all this shopping lark.

Our village has a pram race, old tradition been going on for years. Normally about 50 or so teams and each has a theme ie pirates etc and they have to run to each pub in the village, have a drink and then onto the next one (there are about 6pubs) - they close all the local roads and everyone comes out to watch - fantastic day!!
Nims xx
AHAHA what's a pram :) That race sounds like something we used to do in college. The best was Halloween in Santa Barbara!!! It was a GIANT college block party drink fest in IV! The whole street is houses of college students, everyone throwing a party with open doors...you just go house to house! Even the cops are into it...they block off the road to car traffic because there are so many drunk students lining the street it is crazy!!!

then there is the famous 21st birthday pub crawl!!!

wowsers...I'm feelin quite old!

Nims you are on facebook??? me too!!!! Hang in there girl just a few more days til test day...it is sooo hard cuz +s show same symptoms of the witch for some people, but it sounds promising!!!!!!

Angel- woohoo on your way!!! You'll be a pro before you know it then it will be over!!!

JenB- you won't need any more cycles this FET is IT!!! I hope you have a good time with your sister and the holidays, they will be over before you know it and FET will be upon you in no time!!

Jayne- get all the rest you can now haha...in 9 months you are gonna need it!!! I'd sleep 24/7 if I could ;)

Ang- ok apparently I screwed Boxing day up a little bit...I knew boxes were involved but apparently it has to do with boxing up donation...not you crap, unless you are doing that whole regifting thing, then I guess you can call it boxing up crap hahah... this came from wikipedia....

Origins

There are disparate theories as to the origins of the term. The more common stories include:

* It was the day when people would give a present or Christmas box to those who had worked for them throughout the year.

* In feudal times, Christmas was a reason for a gathering of extended families. All the serfs would gather their families in the manor of their lord, which made it easier for the lord of the estate to hand out annual stipends to the serfs. After all the Christmas parties on 26 December, the lord of the estate would give practical goods such as cloth, grains, and tools to the serfs who lived on his land. Each family would get a box full of such goods the day after Christmas. Under this explanation, there was nothing voluntary about this transaction; the lord of the manor was obliged to supply these goods. Because of the boxes being given out, the day was called Boxing Day.

* In England many years ago, it was common practice for the servants to carry boxes to their employers when they arrived for their day's work on the day after Christmas. Their employers would then put coins in the boxes as special end-of-year gifts. This can be compared with the modern day concept of Christmas bonuses. The servants carried boxes for the coins, hence the name Boxing Day.

* In churches, it was traditional to open the church's donation box on Christmas Day, and the money in the donation box was to be distributed to the poorer or lower class citizens on the next day. In this case, the "box" in "Boxing Day" comes from that lockbox in which the donations were left.

* Boxing Day was the day when the wren, the king of birds,[3] was captured and put in a box and introduced to each household in the village when he would be asked for a successful year and a good harvest. See Frazer's Golden Bough.
o Evidence can also be found in Wassail songs such as:

Where are you going ? said Milder to Malder,
Oh where are you going ? said Fessel to Foe,
I'm going to hunt the cutty wren said Milder to Malder,
I'm going to hunt the cutty wren said John the Rednose.
And what will you do wi' it ? said Milder to Malder,
And what will you do wi' it ? said Fessel to Foe,
I'll put it in a box said Milder to Malder,
I'll put it in a box said John the Rednose.
etc...

* Because the staff had to work on such an important day as Christmas by serving the master of the house and their family, they were given the following day off. As servants were kept away from their own families to work on a traditional religious holiday and were not able to celebrate Christmas Dinner, the customary benefit was to "box" up the leftover food from Christmas Day and send it away with the servants and their families. (Similarly, as the servants had the 26th off, the owners of the manor may have had to serve themselves pre-prepared, boxed food for that one day.) Hence the "boxing" of food became "Boxing Day".

* Similar to above, leftovers and food were boxed up and shipped overseas in times of war to the soldiers of the Commonwealth Nations.

Hey I'm not a history teacher, I sell drugs :) but at least I knew it wasn't the sport hahahah  But OMG sooo funny I saw your pub crawl comment after I wrote that to Nims already hahah....but yes you remind me of St Patty's day in Boston!!! Nothing screams drunken Bean-town like a died green Charles River ( complete with the bodies floating in it still I'm sure!)

Su- yeah!!! So glad the cats are fine hahaha...just kidding, so glad to hear you can't wipe the smirk off your face!!!! You're glowing!!!!!! The bloods are sooo nerve wracking! Going in every 2 days worrying they are doubling! UGH it really was stressfull. They usually count your time from the start of your LMP...is that 6w2d on the 13th??? Hey did you do 1 or 2 IUIs per cycle?

I don't have anything else to report....my life is boring..well no, my job is and that is all I have done since I last wrote. Oh I did get to see a 2 day old today...yeh that thrilled me. Hard to get out of my mind I should be 8 weeks today, Christmas day would be the end of my 1st trimester :( When will those thoughts go away :(

oh jen dont' you love a good gossip!!

Well aren't you the swot and finishing before time  but thats good, you can totally chill for christmas and get yourself ready for that BFP thats gona happen in the NY!!

finally the form arrived - phew!!

Steph - my you must be bored at work - can't believe you googled boxing day !!! Yes on facebook, but puzzled by it all, keep getting poked and cuddled!!! I'll PM my email address and we can be friends and poke each other !

Hey like your type of street party - the 'pram' so to speak is anything with wheels that goes - you are suspose to have someone sitting in it but too many accidents!

On a serious note, it will get a bit better but certain milestones will bring it all back and christmas it self is a bitter reminder that we don't have children in itself - the thoughts don't necessarily go but they hurt less - does that make sense?

Su you have every right to grin from ear to ear - how are you feeling today - has it sunk in?

ICSI - my god you had to endure the spice girls over there!!! It is on over here, but we have so many similiar type of shows, can never keep up!!

thats me done for the night, know i missed loads but tired as woke up in the middle of the night and couldnt get back to sleep

Still not sure whether I feel positive or not, b@@bs are tender (but may be cos i squeeze them every 5 mins  ), had quite a few cramps yesterday but not much today but feel like i'm getting pmt as grouchy gggrrrrhhhh

WELL it would make sense to have to do with the sport if the Canadians came up with it hahah....eeek sorry if there are any Canadians on...alll in good neighborly ribbing fun  but alas Angie I can see past your mental moment and forgive ya haha...heck who knows, maybe they break out in boxing matches if the box they get they don't like wuts in their box hehe!

As for the 1:30 in the morning....Yesterday was my 2-10 shift...then I hung out with my night pharmies (1 came in to work and 1 came in to shop...his heater went and he had to buy a portable until they can get out next week to put a new one in for him  ) and I shot the breeze with them til almost 11:30 (mostly bitching bout our boss and the meeting I had with him the other day). Then I got home, need a snack and of course one can't fall asleep right away!!! Finally the Ambien kicked in after 1:30.....shear fun when the alarm goes off at 6:30am so I can do the 8-4 shift to day!!! ugh

OMG the cat is soooo funny! She is curled up on the couch behind me, paw over her eyes/head and SNORING!!!!! WHEEEEZE WHHEEEEZZEEE! Usually when I poke her she wakes up and stops...I have been rubbing, poking, petting, scratching her and she hasn't budged!!!! HAHAHA 10 minutes later she pops up all startled MMEEOOWW!!! Um cat you're about 10 minutes late!!! Must have been a good dream!

Nims you are sooooo funny!!! I too couldn't decided if the BBs hurt so bad from pokin em every 2 seconds or cuz they were actually sore! You have to do it descretely though or peeps may look at you a little silly fer playin with yurself hehehe  I admit last night I was rubbing my belly and realized it felt flat again  well ok, not rock hard abs or anything (HAHAHA YEAH RIGHT) but yeh no more little bulge there. It hurts and I know every day will get better with time, it is just sometimes something so random sets me off. I'm also hoping some of it is hormones meaning AF is TRYING to visit in the coming weeks...I know now is too soon, but she's gotta be out there trying to make her reservation right, I mean no one likes a guest who shows up unannounced!!!

I couldn't google at work if I tried...I don't get the internet there...they think it would corrupt my mind and waste to much time!!! HOLY CRAP I don't even have time to go pee let alone surf, people!!! Have I mentioned I LOVE my job  No I did that here at home...I couldn't let ya all think I was Carnac (did you guys have Johnny Carson over there?) and knew all about Boxing Day...hey I knew there was a box involved and I knew it had something to do with Christmas, kinda :P Promis I wasn't trying to blow smoke up yur AR$E I will say I know that the Epiphany is (Jan 6th...something else we don't have here)....the 12th day of Christmas in our song...do you sing that too??? AND A PARTRIDGE IN A PEAAAARRRR TREEEEEEEE!!!! and is the day the wise guys showed up with Jesus presents :) I done good huh hahaha.

I love facebook...I can even throw a chicken at ya, karate chop ya, use the force on ya, and drop kick ya if you'd like

Jen- yippee!!! the app FINALLY!!!!! Now what is an SVQ? and especially an SVQ4??? And why does it ask you so many questions??? Don't they know you have an adoption app to fill out with lots of questions already??????
