Hi Everyone!

Hahahah "woo woo point". That's funny woodcliff. I know what you mean though! I even hate sneezing these days!

I haven't been online for ages, have had problems with internet connection but all sorted now.

I have been busy buying all sorts of stuff! Got lots of sleepsuits, babygrows, little socks, hats, vests etc. It's all so cute! I know it's still fairly early to be going on spending sprees but I already get sooo tired, and I'm worried about not wanting to go shopping when I get even bigger.

Also made some progress on my car. We decided on the Ford S-Max because it's bbig enough for my DH to carry his band gear around in. So we found one which is lovely...tinted windows, leather seats, panaramic roof, air con. However my DH noticed a slight problem on the steering when he test drove it. Ford said it wouldn't be a problem and they would obviously fix it before we took it. So at the weekend I managed to sell my little Peugeot, and now it turns out that the Ford isn't ready because the part for the steering is on back order. So I'm without a car completely...typical!

Went and ordered a load of stuff from the big baby shop too.... Pram, 2 cotbeds, 2 moses baskets, 2 car seats. Came to over £1500 in total!!!! They were good though and gave us 15% discount because we were spending so much. They also threw in extra matresses for the beds. They come with a foam mattress, but they also gave us 2 fully sprung mattresses. I figure we'll use the foam ones when they are little babies and then switch to the sprung ones when they get heavier. I can't wait to get everything assembled!!

My 4D scan for Sunday was cancelled because the sonographer has gone sick, so I had to try and get another appointment. And I got one TONIGHT!!!! I hope they manage to get some good images! I'll let you know how it goes...

Glad to hear you are all doing well,

Hayley xx

Oooooh, My back is hurting, sciatica! So I'm having weekly massages, I'm quite lucky that I have 4 people at work who do massage, one of them is my dad, I have to lie with two pillows, one under my chest and the other at the top of my legs, this gives room for my bump to drop in the cavity! They only use plain carrier oil on me, as some aromatherapy oils should not be used during pregnancy. It certainly helps.

Baby changed theway it was moving last night,up until then it had just been kicks, but now it seems to be rolling around or waving??

I go for my 4d scan on Saturday, I am so excited, I can't wait to see my little one again, not sure if we are going to find out what sex it is,hopefully it will just be totally obvious.

I have just started work full time....I know a strange time to go full time :? , but the person who will be covering for me whilst I am off work is having an operation on her hand (she was meant to have it in December, but it was delayed!) so I am covering for her for the next 6 weeks, I just hope I can manage it okay. I will be aiming to work until 38 weeks, but obviously it is a case of taking each day as it comes.

We have now decided it we have a boy it will be called Nathan and if its a girl whe will be called Crystal Rose, I am now so looking forward to meeting my little one.

One of my patients came in today with a little knitted cardigan today, oh it was just so cute and tiny, mind you, when I worked out the size and realised that it has to come out of ME, the thought was a bit terrifying!

I went onto a website for 'old wives tales' and filled in the questionnaire which would predict if I would have a boy or a girl.....questions like: do I sleep on my left side, do the hairs on my legs grow faster etc etc....anyway the results!!!!!.......51% chance of a boy...49% chance of a girl! :D

I have not put on any weight since Christmas, is this something I should be concerned about? I am eating sensibly now, no longer pigging out! I see the midwife again next week, but she has never measured me and only weighed me at 13 weeks. I am still within the healthy weight gain around 22lbs and baby moving around so much, so hopefully everything is okay!

Nice to read all your posts. Love to you all

Mandy

Oh my gosh... I miss a day and everyone finally says hello!!! HELLO SHANTALA!!! I see your posts on other threads at times and it was nice to see you post with us again. I trust you are growing nicely?!? :D

OOOHHHH Vlada... I feel for you and am right there with you!! My upper back is a killer. I went to a chiropractor last night and she is wonderful - unfortunately it takes several adjustments to get you on the right track and I am still having some pain though not quite as severe. I see her again Friday. She is board certified to work on preggo ladies and she has this table with a spring board in the middle so when she adjusts you there is a minor push against that so as not to wrnch your back but minimal pressure on the belly. I was scared of course (seems the older I get the more nervous I get about chiropractics and now of course having TWO babies in there...) but she was sp excellent. She has a masseuse she would like me to see - she does preggo ladies too... OOOOH... I am so looking forward. I will probably still be a little paranoid about the "woo woo" spot WC but such is life... gotta trust sometimes and give it over...

I am done teaching karate. I am still working F/T and my OB wants me OFF MY FEET after work. I must say its ok with me since I have tree trunk legs by days end eeeewwwww....

I still get nauseous if I eat ANY food with additives or preservatives. I feel sick right now because I ate two little cookies just before I left work a little after 4 (it is now 6:45). Don't know if I can eat dinner. OB said to have a little cheese or ice cream before bed to be sure I have my fat content because I just don't eat fat during the day (well, I have started to eat PB each morning on toast to get easy protein). I just cannot believe how much bigger my tummy has gotten in the last few days!!!!

OK, gonna go... gotta get things ready for tomorrow morning...

Love,

Cocoa

Hayley, those photo's are amazing and really beautiful - your little ones look so alike! I can't believe how "real" they look ...stupid thing to say but I hope you know what I mean. You and I have almost the same due date and so it was mad to think my babies are at the same stage!!

Just a quick one as am trying to get out of work!

Oh Hayley - those pictures are just amazing!!!!! I am so excited about my 3d tomorrow now. I always thought it looked a bit creepy when I saw the pictures on the net,but when its your own (or someone you know about) it is just totally different.

Woodcliff - I am just totally shocked about the breast feeding, I don't start classes until March, for some reason I thought b/f would just take around 10 minutes!!! How naive am I? and 8-12 feeds a day......I did realise they didn't just have 3 square meals....but....goodness, I'm only expecting ONE and its sounds quite daunting...all you twin mummies...jeez!

Did you get your new bed yet?

Anyone else got fantastic fingernails at the moment? I always wore false nails as mine were so weak, I stopped when I found I was pregnant, and now they are so strong and lovely, it will break my heart to cut them all off after the birth!

Hi Ladies!! Snow day here in the chilly windy city (Chicago), so I can actually post instead of just read! Glad to hear that overall most are moving ahead. I was very sad to read about SciTeacher, and I think about her and Lisa daily.

I am moving along at 23 weeks today. I had an U/S on Wed, still both girls :) Still have major back pain...and on my right side between the groin area....Wake up about oh..every 1 hr 15 min to use the washroom...

A - 1 lb 9 oz
B - 1 lb 2 oz.

They think that they are both around 13 inches or so...mostly an educated guess, but at one point Baby A's legs were COMPLETELY stretched out...craziest thing that I have ever seen..they were so logn and skinny!!! (I know..obviously :)

I was a little concerned that B is 'that much' smaller....(not really, but as you all know we like to see them the same!) Otherwise, everything looked really good and the Peri was pleased.

WC - Your class told you 45 minutes to nurse?? I nursed my son solely (I did pump and feed from a bottle too) but I can't EVER remember 45 minutes? More like 20-25 or so...maybe he didn't eat a lot (ped was never concerned as he was always gaining...just not too much!)..he is still on the skinny side, but still...I just can't imagine 45 minutes. I was a PRO at pumping, and could EASILY get 8 oz in 15 minutes. Not to say that a baby can do as well as the machine...but mostly I rememeber feeding's being about 20 minutes per side, but we NEVER finished both.

For those who will be nursing a couple things to keep in mind:
1) When the baby starts to nurse, the milk is like skim milk..real thin watery like...comes with all the important nutrition..... then starts to come the 'hind' milk. Thicker...has all the important fat content. Be sure to 'finish' a 'whole' breast before moving onto the next..if you don't, it will be like the baby always drinking skim milk, which isn't good, as they need the hind milk too. Mine usually only took enough off the second breast to 'relieve' me a little..and I would always remember to start on that breast the next time.
2) If you decide to try and nurse...before you make ANY decisions as to whether or not it will work for you both, you should NOT make that decision for about 4-5 weeks after the baby is born. The first month is so difficult for both of you, as you are each learning....Just as I was about to give up (around the 3rd/4th week) mu husband told me how strong I was, and that whatever I decided he would back me on....well I gave it another week, and couldn't believe it...it all clicked together. I am so grateful that I gave it that extra week. However...I would NOT have given it one day past the week I said. Good luck on whatever each of you choose! I did formula feed those last couple of months, and I never felt bad about it. I did as well as I could!

Good luck ladies!!! We are all getting closer each day....can't believe it!

Hayley gorgeous babies!!! :D And those lips!!

I had my appointment with doctor yesterday and he told me that so far I gained 10 pounds and that is great; and baby is a week ahead:) It seams that she is going to be a big girl:) My DH was 4 and 1/2 kilos when he was born (little over 9 pounds) so I don't expect a tinkerbell

Hello Ladies,
Hayley, nice pics and they look big!!!!! :D Chunky healthy boys!!!!! :D
Croella, only 10 pounds, my Gosh you are lucky!!! I have an appointment on Monday, I am afraid to even step on the scales there
So, on Monday i am also going to a chiropractor, I talked to him and he said that he probably won't even put me on the table, it will be more soft tissue adjustment, border line massage, so we'll see.
Woodcliff, I am nervous about breastfeeding too. My class is not untill March 29th, I have read a lot of literature, but practice will tell. My friend is giving me her very nice breast pump, so , hopefully the whole breasfeeding thing will work out. My mom only breasfed me untill I was 2 months old because she didn't have enough milk, I might take after her, i don't know :?
My other friend who had twins with IVF ICSI didn't freasfeed at all, she made that decision long before the babies were born, but they were very premature ( 32 weeks) and had to stay in incubators for a long time.
Vlada :D :D :D

Hi,

I've just been for my 3d/4d scan, Oh I didn't like it one little bit! I came away a little tearful. My baby just looked like an alien or a heaped pile of mashed potato....nickname is now 'spud' and 'little munster mash' I started thinking that maybe I would think my baby will think my baby is ugly and I won't bond, I want to love this baby so much much and feel I have bonded with my bump. I don't want to reject this little miracle, I hate feeling like this. Maybe my expectations were just a little bit too high, especially after seeing Hayley's fantastic pictures, baby had hands over face most of the time, so pictures were not good. I don't even want to share the photos with anyone, which I had been so looking forward to. I wish I hadn't gone, but its too late....BUT on a good note, my baby is weighing at 2lb 2oz and is right on target for measurements etc, which is always a relief to hear.

Sorry to be such a wet blanket with this post, I keep getting a lump in my throat and welling up with tears and I know I am being totally pathetic.

Hi Mandy, don't be upset - your baby will be beautiful and you will bond and love it without question. Hayley's photo's are exceptional but they are the ONLY ones I have seen that look so real and don't make the baby look like little aliens! She obvioulsy had a very good technician. Just file the photo's away and look at the scans instead. When your baby arrives you'll be able to chuckle at how poor the photo's actually are...and of course always good to keep when your handsome/beautiful child turns 18 and you want to embarrass her/him :)

keep your chin up :)
