I just found out I'm pregnant (woo hoo!) and my clinics protocol with fresh long day 21 cycles is to stop progesterone suppositories the day you get your result (12 days post 2 day transfer). I didn't question this but my acupuncture lady seemed quite surprised.
Is there anyone else here who had the same thing and has a healthy pregnancy? I mean, I'm sure it wouldn't be their protocol if it put the embryo in jeopardy but I also know other clinics keep you on it for several weeks after.
I was also asked to continue, upto 10 weeks of pregnancy. Historically, I have not had issues with progesterone levels though, but as a routine [regardless of the case], they ask you continue progesterone in my clinic. The best thing is to check your progesterone levels. That is the best indication. I am sure your clinic would have done that, else they would not want to stop progesterone unnecessarily.

IT'S A GIRL!!!
CONGRATULATIONS! ... on your BFP. I'm so happy for you. Getting back to your question ...
I had my FET in late November '07. I was placed on Progesterone 2cc AM injections prior doing the FET. To this day, I'm still on the same dosage Progesterone on a daily basis. I'm just one day shy of WEEK 17.
I had broken out into hives when I started the Progesterone injections. My RE told me that I was probably reacting to the oil that the Progesterone sits in. I was switched to the suppositories. I didn't like it at all. I went back to the clinic and I told them that I'll put up with the uncomfortable reactions and continue with the injections.
WEEK 9, I started spotting. I was then placed on 2cc in the AM and PM for about 2 weeks.
Currently, I'm still at AM injections. My OB/GYN had mentioned that I will be on it until ~ WEEK 23 until further notice. Hopefully, by then, I'll be down to once a week injections.
Again, congratulations!

I've done some research and all the medical literature states that, from clinical trials, in a routine fresh ivf cycle, stopping progesterone the day of a first positive pregnancy test (beta HCG) makes no difference to miscarriage or live birth rate compared to groups that have continued progesterone support. Am I reassured? Not on your nelly!
I've had a previous successful (well, apart from the fact it implanted in my fallopian tube!) fresh cycle at same clinic so... Man! I wish all protocols did the same thing, would give us more confidence!
