Do any PCT's offer free treatment for secondry infertility?

Post by lesleypb »

I have been married for over 16 years and have had to pay for both my cycles of IVF because we already have a child together. I had my son 14 years ago (naturally after a year of trying) and since then suffered an ectopic pregnacy in 1996 which left me with one blocked tube, the other tube has never existed. I had a failed IVF in October 2003 and a failed ICSI in Jan 2005.

I am wondering if all PCT's have the same crtieria that they will not pay for any treatments if you have a child together.

Any examples of couples getting free treatment would be gratefully appreciated.

Hi Lesley, sorry for your problems. I do not know if any pct's will give you a free go.
I just wanted to wish you well in your quest for another child.
I am in north yorkshire and having got to the top of the list the pct suspended all fertility treatment for 3 months, then in April last year they cancelled all for a year, it will be reviewed in April this year again, but as it stands now no one in the area can be added to the list. I will be crossed off the list when i have my babaies safely in July, all paid out of pocket.
Good luck
