Hello ladies! I hope everyone is doing fantastic!

Sophie -- You are truly an inspiration. Your positive attitude is just amazing. I am praying for you.

Em -- Happy belated ANZAC day! It sounds like you've had some really scary moments with your father. I hope it's all smooth sailing from here forward.

Deb -- Congratulations... a girl!! That's great news. Like you, my fatigue and especially my morning sickness seem to want to go out with a bang. I was sick as a dog over the weekend but have been feeling better as of yesterday. Hopefully, we've all finally turned the corner to fun part of the pregnancy. I haven't started showing yet since the morning sickness has kept some weight off of me. I'm not as far along as you but don't know how much longer I'll be able to enjoy wearing my regular clothes. Maybe I'll get lucky for another month or two (fingers crossed).

Pincusion -- I'm glad your nuchal went well and that you won't have to pursue more invasive testing. I am so amazed by all of the stories on this board. So many of the women here have been through such trying situations and all seem to be so positive about their experiences, you included. It must have been very scary with your son and the issue with his lungs. It's great to hear that he's happy and healthy now. I hope the morphology comes back all clear on your little one.

Yesterday, we had our nuchal scan. I was also scheduled to see the doctor for a follow-up visit and was having a glucose tolerance test. I drank the sugar water on the way in to the appointment, knowing that they'd do the blood work after the scan. That was a bad idea!! The baby was on a sugar high throughout the scan and the technician couldn't get any measurements. We were just cracking up as the baby put on a show any aerobics teacher would envy!! It was hysterical. Finally, the technician suggested we have the blood drawn and go to the regular appointment and then come back for the scan. When we returned 40 minutes later, the baby had finally crashed but was sleeping on its head, completely upside down! I had to walk around, coughing for five minutes with the hopes that the baby would move into the needed position. Finally, we had cooperation. The technician was so patient throughout the whole ordeal. I have been thinking the last 10 weeks that we're having a girl but now, I truly believe it's a boy -- and he has every one of his father's traits!! :D The technician indicated the measurements looked really good and for the first time since conceiving, I finally feel comfortable about this pregnancy. Yeah!

All of my best to each of you.

Lynn

Hello everyone

I had my nuchal scan today and the baby had died.
I am devastated. I don't understand why this keeps happening. I've wanted this for so long and it keeps being taken away from me.

Lola,
My heart sank when I read your post. I am so sorry. I can't imagine your pain. My deepest condolences to you and your family.

Have the doctors offered any kind of explanation?

My prayers are with you.

Kindest regards,
Lynn

Hi Lola

We used both used to look at 'IVF Hammersmith'. I absolutely cannot believe that this has happened. I am SO SO sorry. I had the same exact thing happen in November last year. There is nothing I can say to take away the pain but take care of yourself. You are clearly very good at getting pregnant and so sadly have just been incredibly unlucky, I am sure it will happen for you. Lots of Love Vicky.

Hi guys,

Had my Nuchal yesterday and all looks good with bub (risk of 1 in 2500) but unfortunately my placenta is low lying which may become placenta previa unless it pulls back away from my cervix in the next 6 weeks.

Also my boys are sick again and have contracted Parvovirus which is a highly contagious but mild virus which just causes bright red cheeks and in some unlucky few a low fever. Good news for them but bad news for me as in pregnant women it can cause the baby to devlop anemia and evetually miscarry. I had a blood test yesterday to see if I was immune to it (most people are) but I'm not so I have to have a repeat blood test in 3 weeks to see if the boys have given it to me. The symptoms in adults are so mild that most people don't even know they have it.

Well. That's my news. Hope everyone else is well.

I haven't been around for a few of weeks.

Not to bring more bad news to the board, but I lost my baby too. I was 9 1/2 weeks. I was the one that had my 1st u/s at a bit over 7 weeks and they found a slow heartbeat and the baby was 6 days behind. When we re-tested on 4/10, they found that the baby had passed away.

The whole thing has been absolutely horrible. We had already fallen in madly in love with our baby. And made so many plans. We were so looking forward to our future. Now we're just lost. This Mother's Day is going to be really hard.

We can't afford to try another IVF and there's no chance we'll get pregnant naturally. We're already $24,000 in debt from all the IVF stuff so far. Why couldn't I work for a company that had good insurance?

We don't know what to do. Go into debt even further to try again when we were so lucky to have it even happen once for us? I am a poor responder who'd had 3 cancelled cycles before finally making it to egg retrievel where we only got ONE egg. Consider adoption? Which costs money also. Or just give up?

I really don't know what to do. DH is on board with whatever I decide. I think he'd like to try again too, but we really can't afford it. It's $4,000 for 1 months worth of drugs and IF we make it to another retrieval, that's $9,000 more. If it works, it's worth a million times that. If it doesn't then we'll be $37,000 in debt with absolutely nothing to show for it. I feel so pressed to make a decision and start doing something already. I just turned 42.

Sorry to sound so depressing. It's just really hard.

Oh no Kristy, I am so, so sorry. I can't believe that you have had this happen too. What an awful situation you are in with finances. You seem to have such an unfair health system. It seems ludicrous that your ability to have a family hinges on which company you work for. Its so unfair.

I do hope that you manage to find a way to fund another go. You came so close. My heart goes out to you and your DH.

Seems like our November mommies group has had its share of downers lately. I hope there is no more bad news and that everyone is doing well.

I think I am finally getting near the end of my morning sickness. The evenings are getting a little easier each day, and although I do feel nauseous, I haven't been "sick" in one week. Yeah!!

Kristy and Lola,
I've been thinking about both of you. I hope time is helping heal your broken hearts. Hang in there. I hope everything works out for both of you.

Best,
Lynn

Hi, I have been following this forum since it was established, but haven't had the guts to post. And my heart just sank when I read about Sophie and Lola.

I think it is now or never for me.... I am now 12 wks , just had my nuchal scan and can now finally write that I am pregnant, ( the huge stomach sticking out in front of me is a bit of a give away too).

I am having twins - which is such a blessing I have to pinch myself ..... Had a lousy round of IVF hardly responded and they threw both embryos back in after only 2 days- very low expectations....imagine my surprise then that they both stuck and are now growing like crazy.

I joined this forum when I was living in Seattle WA 2006, going through my first round of IVF, and found the women so supportive and kind, so it is thrilling to hunt some of them down and see so many now finally pregnant.
I hope we can offer each other the same support for our big days in November.

Now I just need to get my ticker doo dah working...

Take care girls
Sarah

Congratulations Sarah and welcome aboard!!

It seems like our little group hasn't been too active with the postings lately. I hope it's because everyone has good news but is too busy to post.

I guess I haven't reached the point where I'm supposed to begin "enjoying" my pregnancy!! I'm still really tired and have odd days where morning sickness still rears it's ugly head. Other than that, I guess I can't complain!!

Best,
Lynn

Hi all,
It certainly has been a while between posts for me.
All is good, I feel wonderful now and just had my 19/20 week scan and have found out it is a boy! that will be 4 boys for us! but as anyonethat has bee through ivf knows, i am grateful for just having a healthy baby on the way, he looks really well and a bit bigger than average, my previous 3 boys progressively were bigger at birth with a 7 pound, 8 pound and then a painful 9 pounder, so i am bracing myself for another big boy! Hope everyone else on here is doing wonderful. let us know how you are gong..

Pincushion, it's good to hear everything is progressing well!

I had the 20-week scan yesterday. Everything looks good and the baby is growing right on queue -- I'm exactly as far along as I should be given my embryo transfer date. Unfortunately, the baby was not cooperating and we didn't get to find out the sex. I am bummed but figure we've waited so long for this little miracle, waiting four more weeks to find out whether it's a boy or girl isn't too bad.

I hope everyone else is doing well and feeling healthy.

Best,
Lynn

Hi Lynn!
I am out here, looking forward to having my baby in November!
I have been meaning to introduce myself on the November thread for a while now and then lost track of it.
How are you doing? How are you feeling? Is this your first baby?
It's the first for me. Things are going well so far. It is hectic now trying to get everything together and I was frightened to see my first stretch marks yesterday. Yikes!
But, I can't complain. I am SO excited for the next few months to go by and to meet this person we have been waiting for.
I hope and everyone else on this thread are doing well!
