I naturally have kind of a small bladder and could never hold much to begin with... I'm only almost 5 weeks and I feel like I'm peeing all day Last night I woke up twice to pee... is this normal?
IVF1: BFP 02/08 - Chemical 4 wks.
IVF2: BFP 06/08 - Miscarriage 6 wks.
IVF3: BFP 11/09 - Chemical
IVF4: dec/jan Dear Lord..please let this be the one.
It was normal for me, I was still swollen and bloated from stimms. Then the baby starts weighing on your bladder and you have to go more times! Sometimes I feel like I am going to explode and then... two drops!
Congratulations on your pregnancy!

Yes it's normal to pee a heck of a lot. I peed 3 times a night for all of my first and second trimesters, and now in the third trimester, I feel like I pee every hour. My commute is only 35 minutes and yet I always have to go just before i leave the house, and right when I get to work.
The other thing I find is that as pregnancy progresses you feel like you have to pee all the time, and it's only sometimes that when you head to the bathroom that pee actually gushes out. Sorry if that's TMI. Sometimes there's barely anything even though you ran to the can as if you were about to burst.
It's easy to tell why. Look at pictures of a pregnant woman as she progresses. As the uterus grows and baby too, your bladder gets crushed to a fraction of its former size. Seriously I could barely find the bladder on one diagram I recently saw! The uterus just takes over and pushes other vitals out of the way.
That said, don't stop drinking plenty of water! Water is a pregnant lady's friend. If I don't drink a ton of water, I feel worse, but also at week 32 now, it's important to stay hydrated because dehydration can bring on early labor. IN my 2nd tri, I found drinking water helped me avoid cramps in my calves.
So resign yourself to the cycle or drinking H20 and peeing all day long.

Me: 37 DH:40 TTC since 2005. First IVF cycle canceled. 2nd cycle BFP 1/11. DS arrived late 2008. 3rd cycle, U/s 3/7. Devastated. NO fetal pole or HB.
This makes me laugh because I too have a small bladder when I am not preggers. I have to potty at least every hour if not every half hour. I am carrying twins though and drink lots of water because I am always thirsty. But as soon as I stand up I need a bathroom near by just in case because all the pressure goes down onto the bladder...third trimester is the worst with the pee.

Okay, I'm jumpin' on the pee band-wagon. 37 weeks here, and peeing like there's no tomorrow! Like you said, sugabeanz, the minute I stand up, it's like "Aaaw, no, not again!" I also drink more than 3 liters of water a day (because I'm so thirsty!), but ya gotta do what ya gotta do. It's nice to know that we are not alone in this.
Have a great pregnancy everyone!
