Adopting While Pregnant?

Post by waiting for 4 »

For those of you who are not in the other forum for Oct IVF heres a quick recap of my situation:

I got my BFP from IVF 11/17 but found out last week my sister-in-law is pregnant. Shes a very immature, irresponsible 22 year old with basically no job, no spousal support and no drive to better her life. She is due in February and in the midst of deciding whether to keep her daughter or give her up. My husband is insisting that he wont let his niece leave the family but his mom is 60 and has health problems.

Does anyone have any advice or know of anyone in a similar situation? Can I handle adopting a newborn in February when I am due in July? Will it be fair to the baby? Will I love her as much as my own... too many questions- I need your help.
Me 25, DH 27

10X clomid, 3 w/IUI
IVF 1- BFP, MC@9 wks
IVF 2- BFN
husband laid off- no infertility coverage
3X with femara, all BFN's but has regulated my cycle and FINALLY got positives on ovulation test
Currently on my 4th cycle with femara

I have no doubt that you and your DH will love your sil's baby as much as your own, the only concerns are whether 1) your sil is willing to give up and NEVER ask the baby back in the future. That would break your heart if she will! 2) could you handle one little baby while you are heavily pg yourself? especially for the first time - I assume this will be your first baby, right?

It's very personal question and good luck in making your decisions!
