hi everyone!!
rosario..nice to hear things are approaching for you. i've never done bcp's before a cycle before, so remind me- when you finish them do you go straight into stims, or do you down-reg first?
NY- HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!! wishing you the most beautiful of days

and good luck with those stims starting tomorrow. please keep us closely updated as i want to send lots of good energy your way.
berning- congrats on growing betas. my second beta was high too (7741) and i have only 1 growing. but, my second beta was a week after the first. some of us are just big hcg producers, and i'm one of those. i never had 2 growing, and this happened last time i was pg too- big beta #'s with just 1.
wonder- so glad everything is going well and the nuchal went good. enjoy
babyhope. i so get the 'no plans' thing. the best thing i did for me was to distract myself, cause any time 'left to my own devices', i made myself crazy with worry and fear. i pray for a healthy 1st tri for you. i didn't get what you said about your Dh though? although i got the comparison to the credit card transaction. take care.
jennjenn. sooo here's my thoughts on progesterone (although they've been unpopular before on other threads on this forum).. my RE's and OBGYN
insist that progesterone supplements are useless once you get a good, high beta. they say by then, the issues with the IVF process taking the progesterone away from the corpus luteum is all resolved. they say it's old school and not scientifically valid to continue progesterone after a good beta (2 weeks after transfer). the progesterone is needed prior to this. ....i was also sent a link to a scientific research article about this (saying the same thing) from a lady on another IVF forum (she was PG, almost due, stopped progesterone after that first 2 weeks). frankly, she pissed me off at first, cause i only wanted to hear that i MUST have it.
ANYWAYS, i'm such a worry wart that i insisted i get it anyways, my RE wasn't willing to do this, but my OB did, cause he said it wouldn't harm me. . so after a previous miscarriage- the OB wasn't going to argue with me, and i just needed it for reassurance. i weaned off it over the last 10 days. this seems to be a controversial topic, many women have strong feelings about it and i know on another thread my information didn't go over well. so i say, trust your dr's (within reason) and listen to your heart and what your bottom lines are of what you feel safe with. and always ask your RE to explain 'why' to you so you can understand.
hi kas, lynnie, gina, chris and everyone else... HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
on my end, the spotting is back...if you can call it that. it's dark brown sludge. i'm not too worried about it..BUT.. i am. i complete the first tri tomorrow. i'm going to see my OB this week and see what's next for u/s's and explore any pre-natal testing we may do. i'm afraid of amnio and cvs for m/c risk. and nuchal's can give false positives (positives= somethings wrong with baby). so it's all scary.
anyways, love to all, karen
