W4B - You have a great attitude! Last night I had started mentally preparing myself for a BFN. I still kept up the PMA - but didn't want to feel like I had been hit by a truck again.

I went out and splurged on an expensive bottle of champagne to share with friends at midnight. One of our group is from France (although she won't be with us tonight, she is visiting her family) and she has taught us much about good champagne. I'll never go back!!!!!!!!!

Here's to being a teetotaler in 2009! (aka: preggers).

And seriously, WTF? There are WAY too many BFNs this month....

KMHTTC and Sprouthaus... Sorry about the BFN. The good news is that you get to paaarty tonight! I like your quote Sprouthaus. Please keep us updated on your next move on your IVF journeys.

I'm still in limbo. I can't believe I still have a long time before my beta. I hope it goes by quicker. DH and I are keeping things low-key tonight and just going to try to enjoy each other's company. May 2009 be a better year for all of us! Happy New Year!!

Sprouthaus & KMHTTC I am so sorry you are starting off the New Year with a negative. I know everytime I got a BFN I pampered myself and took a break to mentally prepare myself for the next round. I wish you all the best.

Hello everyone - I can't believe there are only 2 left in 2ww. Baby wishes to the both of you.

For those of you with BFNs (as myself) - what are your plans now? Take some time off? Talk to RE? Jump back into another cycle?

Our tentative plans are to take at least 2 months off, maybe 3 - and get some acupuncture along the way. I have a consult with RE scheduled for next Friday, so I'll be able to drill her on the poor outcome of this cycle  I had trouble sleeping last night thinking about the possibility of never having a child. I am worried about our insurance coverage running out, about RE telling us to stop trying, about the poor quality of my eggs, about the fact that I turn 35 in April, about the fact that I graduate in June.

So far, when I am asked any baby questions, I politely say that DH and I have no plans for a baby until I graduate (getting my MBA while working full-time). If I'm not pregnant by then - we'll have to start thinking of what we'll say. DH is German and I like to keep personal things like this to myself by nature - so telling people the truth isn't an option.

KMHTTC - How you doing? Did you have a good time on NYE? I didn't get drunk like I planned - but I did get a little tipsy. I got really thirsty around 10:30 and started drinking water instead of wine. I wish I had pushed through! . I also wish I could get a sooner appt for my consult with RE - I am worried what she'll say.

Everyone - Is it SIRM that offers free phone consults?

So I broke down for the first time and POAS this morning... and it came out positive! I was stunned. I never saw a plus sign come up so fast. I'm trying to stay cautiously optimistic and told DH about it. He couldn't believe I did the HPT but was happy. We're just trying to stay positive and hope I continue to stay pregnant. Fingers crossed!

AnnD - that is great news!! The New Year is being good to you already. I long to see a positive on one of those test :-). Can't wait to hear what your beta # is.

Sprouthaus - I know what you mean about the worrying. I even worry in my dreams. We can't meet with our RE until 1/16 and the wait is killing me. I have so many questions and from the way he sounded on the phone when he told me my beta went down, I am so nervous about what he is going to say. I am 28, I can't give up yet.

I don't think we are going to take too much time off. My DH and I have this renewed drive to get this figured out.

I have been researching reproductive immunologists and will be asking my RE if he thinks it is something we should pursue.

Gigi-29 - SIRM is in Colorado, right? Do you live there or did you travel?

W4B and Sprouthaus... Thought I would share this with you (in case you don't do this already)... When we have met with my RE after a cycle that didn't work, I researched and asked other women questions and then I typed it all out. So that when I met with him, I could make sure all my questions were answered. Ask your RE anything and everything. I felt really good after our meetings with him b/c I felt I had a better picture of what was going on. I always think I'll be able to remember everything come meeting time but it's better for me to see it on paper.

W4B... It's good to hear you and DH are ready for another round!! I hear it's good to give your body some time to recuperate. My acupuncturist says that if I get a BFN, I will need time to detox. The healthier you are (mind and body) the better your chances and outlook! You're still very young and have plenty of time to figure out what your next move will be. I know... easier said than done.

Sprouthaus... I understand your concerns. I've had similar ones after my failed cycles. And the turning 35 thing... I'm there! And then there are those baby questions. I don't get those as much anymore, but every now and then I do. I've always said that we're thinking about it, but it's hard b/c how much longer can I say that??? I think most of my friends/ co-workers are getting the picture. Either they think we're still trying or figure we don't want any. Those that know we've sought help with IUIs don't even ask and I haven't told them about IVF. I just didn't want to have to tell people if it didn't work. It would be uncomfortable for me and them. That's why I like this board so much. We understand what we're going through and it's an outlet to express concerns, fears, frustrations, etc.

Let us know if you do the SIRM phone consults and anything new you learn. I feel the more I know about this the better "control" I have over it. If that makes any sense.

ann d. - CONGRATS!!!! That sounds like a BFP to me! I'm soooo happy for you and DH - and I'm glad you got to know before Monday - the wait was even killing me!

W4B - I know how you feel - we jumped right into this cycle after our first IVF failed and it was mostly because I couldn't wait (and we had already maxed our out of pocket this year). I wish I had been more patient. You are very young - so you have more time than most. That being said - you will be doing another FET, no? You haven't had to stim in quite a while - which I think is the part that takes out so much on the body. Since you aren't stimming every month - I say: go go go!!!!! And Jan-16 is so far away. I don't know how I'll make it through this week! And DH will be flying out on a business trip at the time of the appt - so if I get bad news, I'm on my own.

It's funny because during the day - I'm fine with not being pregnant and not having kids. Life is definitely easier this way!!!!!!! But at night - my dreams are haunting me. I'm seeing my acupuncturist tomorrow and I know I'll start feeling better again soon.

You definitely can't give up - you have all those beautiful frosties waiting for you. And you keep getting pregnant - have there been any threads about ladies with multiple chemicals? It might be helpful to hear of the different diagnosis they had so you have more info.

ann d. I do the same thing! I always write my questions out before meetings with RE It was a habit that started when I used to attend appts with my sister when she had cancer. If we didn't write down our questions before and our answers during the meeting - we'd get home and be full of questions. No good.

W4B - I actually went to the SIRM in St. Louis, I'm from the STL area. There are many of them though, you can check out their website at www.haveababy.com. They have a board there too that you can ask the doctors questions on if anyone is interested in that.
