Hi Jane

I am not from the north west of england but I am from england. I am south west so on the same side of enland!! :D
Are you having your first consultation to go ahead with IFV or to start a cycle?
Theres lots of good advise and plenty of support on the board, hope you find it helpful. Good luck and look forward to hearing how you get on.

Hi Lee

Thanks for your reply. My meeting on wednesday is where i receive all the information "Patient Information Evening" about how its done and meet all the medical staff. Not sure how long after this I will start but I have been asked when my last period was so maybe this is an indication that it may start soon, I know its a really good hospital, you may of heard of it, it is the Liverpool Womens Hospital.
A bit fatey, I just recently had a promotion at work and now work just accross the road !! Im terified but excited. I have gone throught a course of clomid for 4 mths last year but nothing :( but i did ovulate. I have been trying for years, im 33 and DH is 38. Both unexplained fertilty, been for a number of test but nothing has come back negative. They say weight and smoking will effect my chances, as they do, so I gave up smoking 3 years ago and that was the hardest thing i have had to do apart from trying to loose weight. The weight thing does bother me as my BMI is above 35 and I know that there is alot of news and updates on people above this BMI been refused. I have questioned this with the adminstrators at the Hopsital and they said dont worry becuase you have been excepted on the IVF programme. Do you think I should worry ? Sorry for going !! What is your story, it would be lovely to keep an eye both of our progress.

Love
Jane

Hi Jane

Good luck for tommorrow, there will probably be lots of info to take in!! So fate has played you a helping hand has to be a good sign! :D
I t can be very nerve racking when you first start this road, I remember when we went for our first appointment we were sat all quiet in the waiting room and a lady came through the door. She breezed in calling all the staff by name asking them how they were. She received hugs off a couple of them and it all looked so friendly and nice. I remember thinking I wonder if we will ever be on first name terms and hugging terms like that? Here we are now on first name and hugging terms!

I have premature ovarian faiilure and only one ovary working at about 25%. My chances of concieving with my own eggs are zilch so my sister this year donated her eggs for me. We did a donated egg cycle back in October and I fell pregnant for the first time with IVF (I have had 2 previous miscarriages years ago with natural pregnancies), sadly I lost the baby just before xmas so still coming to terms with it at the moment but we have another appointment to try again soon.

Fantastic that you do not have any problems to overcome with your fertility although I guess it can be just as frustrating not knowing why you have not fallen pregnant. I wouldn't worry about the weight if they have accepted you they must feel confident, well done for giving up smoking, I did too a few years ago and it was hard!

The best advice I can give you which is vitually impossible to do  is to try and relax about the whole thing. I felt differently this time and truly felt what will be will be, and I know I lost my baby but I did fall pregnant which is further than before and I feel part of that was my attitude this time.

Let us know when you are going to start your cycle, there is an awaiting treatment thread which you could look at I am going to pop over there and see if I can join on, also when you do start treatment there will be a thread of people all starting around the same time it really helps to talk to others who are doing things at the same time as you.

Take Care
