New Here / Tubal Questions

Post by taryn »

Good morning~ My mane is taryn and I am new to this board. Here is a bit about me I am 28 (soon to be 29) and DH is 27. We have been ttc for 13 months now. After having a HSG done in aug we found that one of my tubes was blacked and my ob told us we could see the RE at this point. After having a lap my re told us it was unsucessful and we only had a 5% chance of getting pregnant on our own. Well in Oct we started shots for IVF and to our surprise when AF never showed we found out we were pregnant!!! Well 5 days later i m/c. In dec we started again and found out we were pregnant AGAIN!!! We were shocked. The nurse told us we were at lease 6 weeks pregnant because my HCG was well over 3,000. We went in for a u/s and found our little bean heart beat and all in my one remaining tube, whick now is unusable. So here we are now on out 6th days of Lupron and waiting for AF so we can finally get this ball rolling! So my question is , is there anyone doing IVF for tubal problems and if not does anyone know and success stories or rates!
Thanks :D

Hi Taryn, sorry to hear about the m/c and subsequent eptopic, I think these are esp. cruel to couples already battling fertility.

The great news is you are clearly able to get a ++. I would think ivf should work around your tubal probs and get you a result.

good luck
Debra.

Hi Taryn,
my name is Becky i'm 32, 2yrs ago i had a ectopic pregnancy in which they removed my tube. We were also told that we had a very slim chance of conceiving naturaly we were adviced to have IVF, we were also told that is would be best to have the other one out as that was also damaged and could cause problems with the treatment.
We started our treatment in January & pleased to say we had a positive result just over a week ago were waiting on our u/s fingers crossed.
Although i have no tubes the embies could still end up in the tube that is conected to my uterus.
I'm really sorry to hear your sad news you know you can fall pregnant have they ever mentioned having your tube removed. Don't give.
love Becky. :)

It's going to be ok in the end.Even if it's not ok....IT"S NOT THE END!!!

Thanks Ladies for all the warn welcomes!
Becky Congrats on the BFP!!! From what I understand IVF for tubal problems is very common and have a great end result. How do you feel? How may embabie did you tranfer? As each day comes I get more and more nervous. I go through every cenario in my mind. My RE said since Ihave been pregnant twice in the past 3 months the odds on in our favor, but I still think back on the 2 times we were pregnant and I got the dreaded news that my HCG was dropping and then the 2nd time when we went for the u/s my hcg was way up there but the little bean was in the tube
I am going to try to stay as positive as i can!!! Thanks for all the replys they definatly help :D
