Since I was the hpt queen during my last cycle, I figured I would share some knowledge.
After all of the reserach I did, I found that First Response pregnancy test claimed to read the lowest amounts of hcg (20-25). Remember anything over 5 is considered pregnant, and first response measures the lowest, so even with a negative hpt, you can still be pregnant. It is also reccomended to wait 10 days for the trigger hcg shot to be out of your system. So 7dp3dt, or 5dp5dt..etc. That is the absolute earliest they say, so you won't get a false positive. Also, keep in mind that some people are late implanters so don't fret about a negative. I was a late implanter and did not even see a super faint line until the day before my beta (10dp3dt, 13dpo). Of course all reccomendations are to use first morning pee since it is supposed to have the most hcg, but I have something to say about that too. The day before my beta, I did first morning pee and it was negative. I was devastated because i thought that was it, and then dh read online that if you drink alot before bed(which I do) then sometimes first moring pee is too diluted. So we tried again that day around noon, and it was a faint positive, and just kept getting darker from there! So don;t lose hope ever...blood test is the real result! Good luck and happy P-ing OAS!

1st FET- 09/09 - Chemical
3rd IVF - 04/11 - Embies didn't make it to ET
4th IVF - Fall 2011??
Michele, Good to know. I never HPTed with my son because I was in the hospital. I never even got to the point to discuss whether or not I was try one....but this time is a totally different story and I've already bought my HTPs!!! First Response is what I had heard too. I don't have a trigger shot in my system as I did an FET, so there's no reason for me not to try it! I think I'm going to start on Saturday which will be 9dpt...then I'll do one Sunday, Monday and Tuesday morning as well...it's so exciting! And this board and the March/April board is hopping with good news, so I'm feeling good vibes!!
POAS away ladies!!

We had 3 blastocysts transferred today. I am 42 years old, this is our 2nd IVF. We had a miscarriage at week 9 after transferring 3 day old embryos last time. We really want to make it this time around!
Thank you god!!! I know I said I was giving up but I bought a four pack of hpt so I got up poas it said yes plus thank all of you for your prayers for keeping me going now for a sticky good nine months!!!!!
Well ladies, I think it is over for me. I POAS last night, and this morning, and both were BFNs. I still have my beta tomorrow, but the reality is that this one didn't work for us. I am a bit in shock, I thought I had some really good symptoms but it must just be the progesterone.
I am blessed to already have my son, and it was a comfort last night to be able to hold him in my arms all last night as we both slept. I am still so lucky!
Tabatha I told you to keep the faith Congratulations!
Julie, I'm so sorry about your bfn. Remember Michele's post of how she had late implantation and didn't get a bfp until just before her beta. I'm still praying for you!!
jnj, welcome to the 2ww! Good luck to you!

Well - it is officially over for me. Beta came back a BFN. I am trying to be optimistic that we still have 2 frosties left that we will try with in June, plus that I was already so lucky to have my 1st IVF work.
I am so glad to see so many positives out there! I guess somebody has to be the BFN, so I feel like I've taken one for the team;)
Julie, so sorry to hear about your negative I pray it works out for you in the future. Thank you so much for continuing to be supportive of the rest of us. Please keep us posted on your plans for FET!
Take care,
Cynthia

latinosunshine, around 7 dpt I started feeling a little cramping. Like I could barely feel it and probably wouldn't have noticed had I not been looking for symptoms. My boobs were tender, but mine seem to have been tender for the past month so I didn't want to count that as a symptom. Although, there was one night were I couldn't sleep comfortably because certain ways would hurt my boobs. How many dpt are you?

Julie, don't give up. Enjoy your DS and thank God for your blessing. Try again and keep fighting.
Tabatha and Cimplicity - Congratulations on your BFP, this is a very special moment, don't you want to go to the roof of your house and yell so everyone could hear you?
Cimplicity - I'm in my 6dpt, last night I had serious cramping, I though AF could come, I could cry. Then I fall sleep and had to get up 3 times to the bathroom. Do you think it could be the progesterone?
Sari, I'm getting mixed messages about whether the progesterone causes you to cramp or not. The cramps I felt were really mild and I had been on progesterone for over a week before I started to feel them. I really didn't start to feel "different" until the night of 7dpt and into 8 dpt which prompted me to take the hpt. I definitely don't think it's the progesterone making you get up to pee though. Are you planning to POAS? I'm crossing my fingers for you!
