Car Seat Suggestions

Post by CT_Michele »

Hi Everyone!

We currently have a babytrends infant car seat from Babies R Us, and we love it, because it attaches to the jogging stroller. It is the main reason we got it, because it was the only infant seat/jogging stroller combo I could find.

Anywho...Ella is going to outgrow the infant seat within the next 6 months and we will need to get a new car seat. We will need something for 22 lbs and up, hopefully something that will last for a good long time. Either a convertable car seat or even rear facing stage 2 seat. I would like it to be rear facing for as long as possible.

Of course I would like to save as much as possible, but I want something good, and don't mind spending the extra money if we are going to have it for a long time, which we probably will since I am hoping baby number 2 is on the way soon. I was just hoping to get some suggestions from people who may have researched convertable car seats and are using them. Which one do you have and what do you like and dislike about it, and about how much did it cost?

Thanks so much!

my 1st dd was a very big baby and out grew her carrier by 6 mths so we found a carseat on line from graco that went from 5lbs-30 lbs which was great. it went till she was over wo then we got her a 5 point harness 1 that turned into a booster and she four and only uses the booster. Angelina is now in the 5-30 lbs one and by time she meeds the next 1 i will only need the 16 dollar booster for morgan. The 5-30lbs 1 i believe was under 200.00

do you know what model and brand it was? What did you like about it and was it rear facing?

I am in a similar situation, I am cycling again now, and hope to have kids about 18 months apart, so when one is done, the other one can use it.

My DH talked with a car seat installation instructor for CHP and she said RADIAN 65 is one of the best and safest out there, plus it is stremlined so you can fit more if you have more than one bean!

We went with the Britax all around. Infant systems and the next step. LOVE them both!!! Easy to clean, install, carry, transition, everything and my kids have never complained about them ever. In fact, mine are too busy sleeping. I did the Britax Companion for the infant seats and the Marathon for the bigger one. I also saw them both on sale at www.albeebaby.com. The Marathon was $100 off! And Britax NEVER goes on sale around here!
