hey ladies,
i'm new to this site. this is my 2nd ivf cycle. we had a fet done on 4/24/09. they transferred 2 grade 4ab's. on may 20th i will have my first u/s. when i was trying to figure out my due date i called my dr. and she said no matter if i did ivf or concieved naturally, it is based on the day of my lmp. if that is the case i'm in my 7th week and i'm due on january 2, 2010. i see some of you say your basing it on retrieval date. i guess i'll find out for sure when i'm due when i go to the dr. on wednesday. congratulations to everyone and here's to a happy and healthy 9 months.

there is a actual ivf calendar for due dates. just google "IVF due date" and it should come up. thats what i used, its based off of your egg retrieval, i think!
4 more days until my u/s to determine if one or two!!
Welcome Brandi. There is also a calculator on this website under Resources along the left side. Just click on Pregnancy Calculator and you can put in your retrieval date. I am not sure but I would think they would go by how old the actual embryo is but you are right, we will all find out when we go to our actual OB. I am sure some of our dates will change a tad (especially if any of us have multiples ). How are you feeling? I have been waiting for the nausea but nothing so far so I am feeling very lucky.
We're waiting today with Morgan to find out about her ultrasound at 5.5 weeks. So exciting. She's the first one up this week. It's gonna be a full week.
Have a great Monday ladies!!
Here’s a breakdown of everyone’s U/S schedule…If I don’t have yours or if it is incorrect, please let me know, so we can all keep track….

Good news! Just had my 5w3d ultrasound. I am pregnant with a singleton and I saw the gestational sac in the back of the uterus, just where it should be, as well as the yolk! Doc said everything looked perfect and measured just as it should. I am thrilled!
SOOOOO HAPPY!!!!
Back in next week for my 6w ultrasound and then a 7w ultrasound before I am released to my OB.

tiffichels--you are so on top of things, i like it!! my u/s is 5/21 though!! and my name is mindy. i don't mind people knowing my name... thanks for doing the chart.
Mindy - Cool. Thanks for the update. I never had it in me to do this before but I think I'm just so excited I'm thrilled to get to know all of you since we have all gone through basically the same issues. I'm updating the chart now...
Congratulations Morgan! How exciting :o) I bet it felt great to see the baby in there, I can't wait.
Welcome to the group Brandi!!
Okay, you guys, I have a question for you about weight gain. I have already gained like 11 pounds (since the beginning of treatment) and am wondering if any of you are experiencing this? I know all the meds can cause abdominal bloating and weight gain, but it seems kinda crazy. I already cannot fit into any of my pants, my stomach looks like I am 3-4 months pregnant!
Can't wait until the rest of us have our ultrasounds this week!
Have a great day :o)

Lisa - it's soooo good to hear someone ask that question. I gained about that much the first IVF (in 2006) then lost it. I started #2 this past January and gained about 15 lbs with that one then we started all over again (#3) right away which added 10 more lbs. So I was 25 lbs. over my normal weight of about 124 when we got our positive pregnancy test. Anyway, I have been going up and down in the last few weeks and have lost about 5 of those pounds and YES I totally look 4 months pregnant.
I gave up and bought maternity clothes because I started this process in a size 6 then went to an 8 then a 10 and when I was going to have to start buying 12's I said screw it and went shopping for the maternity clothes. They are SO much more comfortable around your tummy too. I do know people who used belly bands and loved them but I have huge hips and they just roll up on me (wish I could use them). At least this way I will get a full 8 months use (then some) out of my maternity wear.
Also, you may be bloated from the iron in the prenatal vitamins and the progesterone. They will cause you to be constipated and that was a huge issue for me (might have had to do with that 5 lbs I lost right away). My Dr. said to use colace and it has worked wonderfully.
Also, at this point our uterus' are the size of a grapefruit and normally the size of an orange so that will give you a little pooch too.
Hope this helps....

Heather - Thank you so much! Everything you wrote, is me to the tee. I was also a size 6, but weighed 137 (I worked out a lot, and was pretty toned). Just this past week, I discovered my size 8 pants wouldn't fit either, so I too, went and bought some maternity pants. It seemed so weird to be doing that at not even two months. I know part of my problem is that I haven't worked out since the beginning of March, my doctor told me to take it easy and try to let my body relax and not be stressed, and it relaxed all right :o) It's well worth it though.
I never thought about taking a stool softener, so I will have to look into that, because that is also one of my problems. Thank you so much for the helpful hints!

i also look a couple months pregnant. glad its not just me!! my weight hasn't changed all that much, before IVF i was put on a low carb diet and lost all my baby weight but then after ER my tummy started growing! i did not show at all with my first son until like 4 months preggo so this is very weird for me. and the constipation, that was my first clue this time i was pregnant. i learned with the first pregnancy to inhale fiber foods. luckily fiber one makes alot of delicious foods so i just eat tons of that. i even have the prescription PNV with stool softner but can sometimes still get backed up. ok--just wanted to add my input!!
no u/s tommorrow for anyone but brandi GL on wednesday!!
Cool. Glad we could get all that input. It makes all of us feel better to know that others are going through the same issues.
I normally don't work out but I did just buy a yoga dvd for prenatal and postnatal (that one you do with the baby..can't wait) so I will start doing that next week after my last day at my job (Friday). Mindy, you are right that some of your tummy could be from not working out but it is worth it. We can all work on losing it next year after taking care of our babies.
I was in a store and a lady asked me how far along I was (all of my weight seems to be in my tummy) and I told her I wasn't due until January and she swore I was carrying twins. I didn't want to get into the whole shot thing so I just told her maybe I am. LOL.

Thank you everyone for the warm welcome. I too have put on several pounds. I was around a size 8 before starting meds and now I can't even get in my 10's. I took out my maternity jeans from last pregnancy and it is so much more comfortable. Its hard to be around friends with this sudden weight gain, because we are not telling anyone just yet. I just keep saying "I need to get to the gym" or "I really need to get back on my diet", just to throw people off. We want to have the u/s done and see a strong heartbeat first. We live away from family and are going in town this Friday to celebrate my dd's 2nd birthday and we plan to announce it then. If we are pregnant with twins I don't think we will tell anyone about that till the first trimester is over. Alot of people have been asking when we are going to try again and I keep saying "oh sometime later this year". Its going to be a complete shock to them. We did it as a hush, hush, b/c I wanted to be able to suprise our family b/c last pregnancy they had to be there for everything and so they were kinda waiting for the call. It hasn't really hit me yet that I'm pregnant. Last time, around this time, I was really nauseated. So far the only thing I have is sore boobs. It also took for me to see the u/s for it to become real to me. Good luck to everyone this week with your u/s and I'll be back on Wednesday with an update.

u/s measures baby at 6w1d, which is probably about right if i use the ivf calculator using the blastocyst date. the hb is 115. they also saw another gest. sac, but couldn't really see anything in it. the dr. wants to see me back in two weeks to see what happens to it. i really wanted twins, but i don't see that happening. good luck everyone with the remaining u/s this week. keep us posted.

Woo Hoo Brandi!! Sounds like a great heartbeat for that stage. Congrats. I bet it was really cool to hear that. We have ours tomorrow and hubby is bringing the video camera so our family can see and hear it too. I'm so thrilled there was two sacks. It's still really early and your bean(s) are really small so maybe one will appear and you will get your twins. I know how you feel, but even one absolutely is wonderful.
