Slow Developing Embryos?

Post by KristinKR »

Hello All,

I had my egg transfer today! This is my first cycle, and I must say what an emotional roller coaster ride it has been.

We transferred (2) 4 cell, grades 1 & 2 and (1) 2 cell grade 1 embryos. (Grading is 1-5, with 1 being the best).

I am 39 with no known fertility issues other than age, and my husband is 36 with a low sperm count.

Any success stories out there with 4 cell or lower embryos at transfer?? I sure could use some encouragement to get me through the next 2 weeks!!!

Thank you and I wish everyone the best!!!

Was this a day 3 transfer?
Avoid IVF and surrogacy in Ukraine. Ukrainian centers pay shills to post here under numerous sock accounts pretending to be patients in Ukraine. Centers using such deceptive advertising cannot be trusted and should be avoided.

Well, slow embryos do not implant as often as faster ones. Some think the problem is the embryos themselves, and others argue that this effect is caused by the endometrium getting advanced by ovarian stimulation. In the latter theory, the slow embryos might be viable, but too late to implant because the endometrium is no longer receptive by the time the slow embryo is ready.

But whatever it is, the slower embryos still have a chance, just not as much a chance as the faster ones.

Keep in mind, most transfers are imperfect in some way. Slow embryos, fragments, whatever. Lots of those imperfect transfers still result in live birth.
