Bad morphology

Post by domsmom08 »

Hello ladies, my name is brandi and i used this site before when i was going through my first IVF cycle. it was awesome i met a lot of nice people and got a lot of support. Now i'm back. But this time we still have the fertility issue but we would like to try naturally for a while before we do a frozen cycle. We tried for 4 years before we were blessed with our beautiful almost 2yr old using ivf with icsi. we are starting this journey again and i would really like some support and advice thru this trying time again. so does anybody have any sucCess stories with a male factor infertility due to bad morphology?? any advice is welcomed. thanks ladies and good luck on your journey.

similar but different journey

hey everyone,
this is our first round ttc, no i don't have any specific info, advice to provide at this point, but maybe looking for anyone experiencing this similar situation.
my husband was diagnosed with cancer - germ cell, form of testicular cancer, but did not affect his testicles. Treatment started asap, no time for freezing of sperm, but he was young 23, and chances were reported to be high 85% that everything would be fine. after one cycle we tried to freeze sperm, but they found none, which they seemed a bit shocked by. he was on cisplatin which was the concern. now, many years later (7), he had a semen analysis done, and no sperm was found. I've been on a lot of forums - but no one talks about cancer and the affects of the medications experienced. we're on a wait list for a fertility clinic, but i'm wondering if anyone has experienced anything list this - and if so, did the sperm return, or were they able to find any sperm in the testes???
thanks:)

hi moorebaby,
when you refer to tesa, is that the same thing as microTEST that i've read about? - when then do a biopsy to explore the testes in greater detail to see if they can find pockets? if yes, one physician we saw was not for just going in and checking it out in the case that they do find some, and that's it. for that reason they want me to be ready as well before they would go that route. if tesa is something else, please let me know!! we're just waiting now to get into another fertility clinic.

My Dh had cancer 10 years ago. Testicular cancer, he has one testicle now. We had to go straight to IVF ICSI in order to conceive. He has low count, low morphology. They had to select a couple of little swimmers. WE had 7 to fertilize 7 eggs. 4 fertilized and we transfered all, now we have one healthy boy. He had very high dose of chemo. Good luck!

My husband was diagnosed with poor morphology (2% normal) and slow motility...count was fine. No known issues with me. We did 4 IUIs with no luck. 1st IVF cycle was negative with nothing to freeze. 2nd IVF cycle ended in an early miscarriage, but we were able to freeze 8 embryos. Our first FET was POSITIVE and I'm staring at my beautiful baby girl right now...5 months old. It works, you just need to hang on to any positivity that you can muster up. Frozen transfers work too...my baby girl is proof of that.

Hold on to the "HOPE" (my baby's middle name)!!!!
