aims, Piper and Ren are adorable! How is it going drying up your milk supply? I'm nervous about that, but it's still going fairly well, so I still nurse Violet 2x a day and pump 2x for Fox. I'll do it until I think the supply is dwindling, or I just can't do it anymore heh.

Cynthia, I felt that way too about my twins. They will scarf a 5 ox bottle during the day but in the middle of the night, they would get through half of that if anything. Then, they just kept sleeping longer and longer. Last night they slept from 10pm until 6! We couldn't believe it! It's a fluke though, usually they go from 10 until about 4 or 430am. BTW, Joslyn is SUCH A DOLL. she's a cutie. Do you do baths by yourself? That's crazy- I doubt I could do it alone LOL

Kellie, is Gabbi still getting up for the 4 am bottle?

Hi Medstudentmom- Congrats on your twins! They weighed what mine did- how far along were you when you had them?

Tara, good luck on going back to work. I know it will be rough, but just give Faith extra cuddles when you get home at night :)

AFM, Fox and Violet are going to be 4 months on March 4. We go to the Dr on the 15th, I"m curious if he will tell us to start with the rice cereal. I think Fox needs it- that boy has an appetite!

Hey new moms, how many of you are losing your hair? I CANNOT believe how much hair I'm losing. It's insane!

I couldn't digest that Faith will actually be spending more time some where else than at home with us! She will come home around 5pm, and will fall asleep in about 3 or 4 hours :-( That is so sad...

Hi Ladies!!!

Sorry for not updating for a long time, I've been so busy with being back at work.

Aims- your twins are soooooo adorable!!!! How is it going with you stopping b/f? I stopped couple of weeks ago and i found cabbage in my bra worked wonders!!!!!! For gas I'm using Mylicon (i think thats the name) it works good for my DD, gripe water didnt work at all as a matter of fact it gave her tummy aches.

Cynthia- Joslyin in such a cutie!!! I'm jealous of her having so much hair!!! OMG !!!!

Tara- its hard to go back to work, but you will get use to it. First week is the worst then it gets better!

My baby is doing good, she mostly sleeps thru the night although for the last couple of days she decided to wake up around 12 and play till 3 :) I'm hoping its the growth spurt again lol she almost double her weight at her 2 months check up she's a fatty! lol She's in the 75th percentile for weight, height and head is in the 55th She doesnt sleep during the day only maybe 2-3 hrs from her two naps, do your babies sleep during the day???? Mine just wants to play and be held all the time! She started cooing couple of weeks ago and now coo's all the time once someone talks to her. Its sooo cute :)

so here is a question, is anyone thinking about getting pregnant again? I'm thinking i want to try my blast when DD is 6mnths but sometimes when she gets fussy i say no more kids for me lol

ok g2g back to work

Tea, when DH is working I do bathe them by myself. I'll put Chaz in his swing and bath Jos, get her dressed for bed, swaddle her up and put her in the swing with her paci. She's usually knocked out within 5 mins! Then I do the same for Chaz. I can get both of them done pretty quickly. They seem to enjoy the bath now and don't fight anymore at least. As far as hair, mine is definitely shedding! Right now I'm wearing a curly bush so it still looks thick but I'm sure if I straightened it would be a thin mess!!

Tara, I know the feeling. As soon as I met the twins' teachers and saw them smiling at school those first few days I felt better. And when I go to pick them up they light up when they see and hear me so it's my favorite part of the day :D .

dys24, Joslyn is actually going bald in the back :( . The little thing turns her head so much when she's sleeping! I can see the hair in her cotton sheet. We laugh at her comb-overs  . Chaz's head is pretty flat. I can't wait for him to start sitting up so that it can start to round out. As far as another baby, I wanted another as soon as I saw these 2! But realistically (and financially) it's best that we wait a few years. DH is starting law school in the fall so my plan is to try for another in 3 years.

Speaking of, has anyone gotten on birth control? I went back and forth so much. It seemed pointless since I really don't feel like I can get pregnant naturally but we really couldn't afford to have a 3rd so close to the twins. So, we didn't want to risk it and I bit the bullet and got an IUD on Wednesday. It's good for 5 years but I can have it taken out at anytime if I decide to try to get pregnant sooner.

Hi Ladies,

Tea - OMG! I'm losing my hair too! My hair is really thick but I feel like I'm going bald. I was wondering when the twins would start cereal too. They will be 4 months same days as yours. They have an appointment with their pediatrician on the 5th, so I'll let you know what they tell me. It was really rough for a few days drying up my milk supply. It hurt really bad! I had to pump just to relieve the pain. I didn't pump until I was empty though..just enough to make me feel better. I'm on day 3 now without pumping. I still feel full at times but not uncomfortable. I'm also still leaking some. I wish I could have kept them on it longer but their tummies are doing much better now. They are still gassy but the gentlease is starting to help them.

AFM - I'm getting more sleep. Yay! Piper and Ren usually have a bottle around 8pm then are good until I get up at 4am. DH is still taking care of them while I'm at work. He gets burnt out but he's doing good with them.

Ladies,

I am having some small issues. May be silly ones, but true!

1. The baby carrier (that comes with the car seat) is so very heavy with the baby. I am finding it very difficult to carry it. Every time we go out DH always ends up carrying it.

2. Faith sleeps in the nursery in her crib. We sleep in the master bedroom. When she wakes up in the middle of the night for her bottle, I have to get up, go downstairs to the kitchen, get the prepared formula from the refridgerator, warm it up in the microwave, come upstairs again to the nursery and feed her. This all takes about 5 minutes, and all the time she is screaming!!

3. Faith hates sitting in her car seat. When I driver her to the day care everyday, she keeps crying. The minute I take her out, she is fine.

4. When giving her warm bath, I make sure the water is warm enough, but she still shivers until I dry her and put her dress on.

Anybody have the same issues? If so, how do you handle them?

Tara.

Tara, not sure what to suggest about the carrier. It gets heavier the bigger they get! I don't carry mine too much though because handling the 2, they always go straight to the snap 'n go stroller.

With the night feeding, we use powdered formula so we keep cans in the nursery along with a case of bottled water. The water is room tempurature so we just mix it up on the dresser and feed! A lot of times I get even lazier and measure the water out in the bottles before going to bed and that way when I go to feed I just have to scoop the formula! lol This is one reason we don't use the ready to use liquid formula. I didn't want the hassle of having to go to the kitchen and warming it up at night.

As far as the carseat, Jos hates hers too but she has gotten a LOT better! Now I start to play and talk to her a lot before she gets in it and she's smiling and laughing so much so she doesn't even realize what's going on. She will still start to cry as long as she's not moving (me carrying her or moving in the car). But being in it twice a day they will get use to it. :D

Tara- for baths i crank up the heat to like 75 degrees that seems to help with her not shivering after the bath and after that i wrap her in a towel so she stays warm.

As for the carseat, my baby seems to like it she usually falls asleep during car rides but if she doesnt i have the car mirror that you put on the headrest in front of them and it helps me to see what she's doing and she loves it because she looks at herself for hours lol maybe you should try that and it might keep her occupied. I also have the dangling toys you put on the carseat handle and she likes them too, she acutally coos to them :)

cynthia- my ob asked me if i wanted BCP but i said well i wont get preggo anyways, and she said thats how people get pregnant after fertility treatments I said good, that would actually work for me lol whats IUD?

So is anyones baby still waking up for nightime feeding? Mine was sleeping for 7-8hrs and for the last 2-3 weeks she started to wake up after 5 hrs around 2-3 at night for a bottle.

Do your babies have their hands in a fist? mine only opens them up when we play or when she eats, i read that they start opening them up around 3 months but hers is so tight sometimes i cant even open them up to cut her nails.

I'm going in for an RE consult at the end of March to hopefully do a FET in June, anyone else thinking of having another baby soon?

Well I hope all of you mommies and babies are doing good :)

dys - thanks for the tips on car seat. I will try the mirror thing and see if that works for Faith.

She has been opening her hands a lot. She also started putting her hands together and also holds her leg with her hand. It is so cute!!

And she does wake up for a bottle around 2 or 3AM.

Hi Ladies,

It has been quiet here. Hope all the mommies and little ones are doing great. Hope you all had a great weekend.

Its getting warmer here in Washington, DC. Finally I can take Faith out to the park in her stroller. She hasn't really seen the outside world yet. Whenever we take her out, she falls asleep.

Is your babies's head getting steady? Faith's head is steadier than before, but still shakey :-)

Faith has reddish skin in her neck folds. Anybody come across this? I red about it online and people say they used baby cream, powder, etc in that area. I need to ask her ped.

Hey ladies.

dys24, IUD = intrauterine device. It's a T-shaped plastic thing that they insert into your uterus. It can stay there and prevent pregnancy for up to 5 years. You can have it taken out at any time though.

Tara, we have had quite a few warm days in NC now. The twins have yet to stay awake when I take them on stroller walks! As soon as we leave the house they are knocked out until we return  Their heads are much steadier but still a little shaky. They look like bobblehead dolls right now, . We got them both bumbo seats but they can only sit in them for a few minutes at a time because their necks aren't quite strong enough yet.

We are going through our first bout of colds :( . About 2 weeks ago the twins both had stuffy noses. Then last week Chaz started to cough and by Wednesday night he was running a fever of 100.4. The fever broke by the following morning but I kept them both home anyway and by Friday DH and I weren't feeling well! Now Jos has also started to cough a lot. I feel like my house is a cesspool of germs! It's heartbreaking to see them cough and cry and there's nothing I can do to help. I was totally clueless to the fact that you couldn't give infants anything for colds. Oh well, hopefully we will all be healthy soon!

I just had the brainstorm to check out the parents after treatment board! So this is where everyone has been!! :) I have a lot to catch up on, but I did notice the pictures and thought I would include on of Sean... Since it's a bath shot I will say to Tara though that I have a space heater in the nursery that I plug in and crank up during bath time so that I can heat up that room quickly without having to heat the whole house. Your talk about running all over the house to get the bottle done makes me glad that we ended up buying a raised ranch even though I normally don't like them. At least everything is right there! But him getting impatient to eat when he first wakes up in the morning is what is making me reluctant to wean him completely even though pumping at work is getting OLD. I feel so lucky that he would sleep through the night if I didn't get him up about halfway through to feed him while he is still essentially asleep. He's just such a good-natured, easy-going little guy.

I notice people talking about birth control... I have been wondering if/when people were thinking of trying for a second one? I don't want to wait too long in case it takes another 4 years...

Wondercat - Sean is so cute!

On the birth control, I am not on anything. My husband doesn't want anymore because he is 40 and thinks that is ancient. So, shortly after I delivered the twins, he had a vasectomy done. I still have 7 embryos frozen if he changes his mind but that is doubtful. I am fine with just the twins. I always told myself I wanted 2 or 3 kids so I just had two at once. :D

What types of activities are you doing to keep the little ones occupied? Piper is holding her head up pretty well but still looks like a bobblehead doll. I'm still waiting for Ren to hold his head up. He can for short period of time. Piper loves the rainforest bouncer and sometimes the saucer (have to stuff blankets around her for this). Neither one of them like tummy time very well. DH has them in their swing a lot. I would think they would get bored!

Are your babies' trying to put their fists in their mouth? It seems to be Piper's favorite activity. lol

Cynthia - What is a bumbo seat?

aims327 - Must be a guy thing. My husband puts Sean in the swing a lot, too. Sometimes without the little seat belt on... grrrr... Right now I hang out with Sean while he is in his crib or on the bed playing with toys. We sing songs (he sings along, I swear it!) and dance to music. He loves to bounce. We do sit-up/stand ups in reps of five, which he thinks is great fun. The weather is getting better so I can take him and the dogs out for walks around the lake by my house. Yeah, tummy time isn't a huge hit but we do it anyway. My nurse practitioner told me it's good for them to get frustrated sometimes, it helps them develop better muscle tone when they get worked up.

He is not trying to put his fist in his mouth - he is succeeding!! Sometimes he gets the whole thing in and gags on it. Good times.

I know you asked Cynthia - but this is a pic of Sean in the bumbo seat about a month ago:
