Looks like I shouldnt have risked it

Post by Annie »

Dear all,
I cant believe Im typing this on the same day as my earlier thread but about half an hour ago I saw some blood. Im trying not to panic but its horribly familiar. I dont know if its my imagination but as soon as I saw the traces of blood I also noticed my boobs werent half as tender( my one constant re assurance through out so far) and I felt generally deflated. Ive spoken to a nurse at my unit who said although its past the time for it to be implantation bleed ( Im 6 weeks today) it could just be some blood dislodged by the vaginal probe this morning ( from my cervix as opposed to anything worse). So back from walking on air to clutching at straws again in the space of a day. Sorry to be so dismal especially on this thread but I couldnt bear the lovely cogratulations messages to continue if Im losing it again. Has anyone had similar experiences and not lost it?? its just the last two +ves I had ended this way and I only know the crappy possibilities

hi annie, you must be having a really scary time right now. the real positive is that you had your scan today and it looked normal otherwise they would have told you. they must have measured your lining and as you said you've seen the baby's heartbeat.

what else did the clinic say when you called them, are you to go back to see them? are you still bleeding?

i pray that everything is ok. i know that there are girls on this side that had bleeding in pregnancy, i'm sure that they will post you.

Thanks Phil,
I havent seen anymore blood but the times when I mcd before it wasnt all in one go /one day . In fact the 2nd one started with one little show then a gap of several days . So basically I dont know what to think. When I first talked to the nurse she tried to calm me and suggested a scan tomorrow, but I said that the consultant had told me that if I mcd again that theyd properly test the embryo in which case id need to come in at the first signs so that they could collect/store it properly. So she went off to try and speak to him and he said just to keep my already arranged appointment in two weeks time but to ring the emergency number if more bright blood to be admitted. The show I did have wasnt bright red blood but it was definately blood ( pinky brown.)
Still got a little bit of hope left in me but Ive just texted all the people I raang/ texted with our "great news" this morning, just in case

Hi Annie,

I'm sorry you're having such a rotten time, and I know it's difficult to keep positive when you've been through it before...

However, if it helps, I got pregnant with my second ivf and bled right from the word go (slight brown bledding from before my test date). The day of my first scan, it stopped so when I saw the heartbeat I thought I was home and dry. Unfortunately two weeks later, I lost the baby. On my third attempt, everything was great UNTIL I was about 6 weeks gone when the brown bleeding started, so naturally I feared the worst. A scan confirmed all was fine, but the bleeding continued, brown, red, clots even until about week 14. This WAS due to implantation (regardless of what you were told) in terms of it had pulled away from the lining a little so had bruised (haematoma). Apparently, it's very commen, but a lot of people's bodies just absorb it into the body again without them knowing. I bled also at about 29 weeks (cervical abrasion) and had my gorgeous baby boy, Sam at 33 weeks. My boobs were never really sore or fuller (even towards the end), unlike my first time pregnant, so don't worry about that - they could have just been really tender with the hormone changes and your cycle due.

Don't give up hope - there could be so many reasons for what's going on - think of the changes your body is going through.

Wishing you all the best. Take care.

Dear Zoe,
I know it wont change things for me , and what will be will be,etc but your post has really helped. Thanks a million
love Annie
PS sorry to be so nosy but did you experience any pains around the times you bled? I have felt twinges on and off throughout but mainly put it down to intestinal causes. I dont think ive felt any particular cramping particularly assosiated with the "shows" but its hard to seperate the real pains from the knot of worry in my stomach.

You're very welcome - any time and I'm glad I could help a little.

You're not being nosy either. Yes, I had bad cramps every day in the first few weeks, like bad period cramps - very different from the time before. They seemed to be worse at the same time every day - think it was the evening, but I did have pains also all through the day.

I remember my midwife saying that she was always amazed more women didn't complain of more pain because of the changes our bodies go through...

Anything else you want to know, just give me a shout. Let me know how you get on.

annie,

praying tonight that all is well for you.
pains are normal in early pregnancy but i know you can't help but analyse every twinge. i've had m/c's so know how to look for signs.

do consider asking your consultant for another scan, i know he said wait but another 2 wks waiting could be excrutiating.

best wishes

Hi Annie,

Please try not to worry easier said then done I know hun but you will get by. I also bled a day before the official test date and bled uptil 18wks of my pregnancy on and off and each day it was such a worry because I was so worried I was losing my baby. I went for scans every other week and all was fine and now I have one beautiful little son mind I say little he was born 11lb 5oz and 4 wks ago he weighed 13lb 14oz and he was 8wks then.

Good Luck.

Annie,
hang in there. I bled between 7 and 8 weeks and again at about 10 and was every time mad with worry as I had one m/c before, but Shell and others reassured me and they were right, so far my twins are hanging in there. I know this is a terrible thing waiting and checking and listening to your body all the time, but please have some hope. It could be just some tear in the uterus and might stop any moment.
love and best wishes,
juliana

Just read your thread and wanted to say my thoughts are with you - the others are much more help from experience. I am hoping this is old blood dislodged which is very frequent especially as you had the proble. Look at it this way might be twinnies which again is frequent - I will keep everything crossed. Re the boobs - mine stop hurting every time I go for a scan - some of these things we almost make happen if this makes sense. I nearly removed a nipple trying to get them to hurt - it worked

Again many thanks for your thoughts and experiences,
Im so bloody scared at the moment that I keep coming on just to re-read these positive stories. Still no fresh blood or even brown now (except the slightest slightest discolourations to my cm) so still holding out for the 2nd part of my miracle. Hope you are all well, your kind words have brought tears to my eyes.

Hi Annie

You must be so worried but try not to. It could be some old blood that has been dislodged by the scan. I had a massive bleed at 7 weeks which literally poured out and everything was fine. It also has no baring on what happened late on in my pregnancy.

Just try to take it easy and rest up.

Dear all,
Im desperate not to jinx myself but nearly 3 days later and apart from some pains no more frightening things have happened yet in the knicker department. Im not out of the woods yet as my 2nd mc did seem to pause for a couple of days before starting with avengence. I cant help being a least a teensy bit more hopeful... famous last words. Ive stayed in bed pretty much full time which I know probably doesnt make a difference but instinct just tells me to lay down ( and I cant think what else to do!) Just thirteen more days til my next scan... argh( they mustnt have had a free slot exactly 14 days following my last tuesdays scan so its two days late)
love and thanks again for all your help
Annie
