IF treament fails...when does AF arrive

Post by caz1 »

Am on day 6 of 2WW - and really feels like AF is coming.
My Q is...should I expect my AF to come at its usual time (in my case 34 days after the last one ie this weekend). Or does the IVF thing just totally mess up your system for a bit? Just wondering when to get my tampax at the reaady!

Have lower back ache which I always get before AF and spots too - another bad sign. Having trouble keeping +ve today as you can probably tell!

Sorry to ask such odd question! Hope it makes sense!

Hi Caz
Firstly stop being so negative, pain and spots of blood at 6 days could well be implantation and that's a really positive sign. I wouldn't think of AF until after your test date and then you can ask the question. so no more negativity just put your feet up and think nice thoughts. :D
The 2ww is hell and I feel for you but hang in there it isn't over yet.

Hi Caz hope your feeling a bit more positive today and pants checking is allowed only once every few hours!
I'm due to start down regging on the 12th May if my egg donor decides to go through with it this month! (Last month she pulled out)
not getting too excited as I've been here twice before so will just take is step by step.
I really hope this works for you, not long to go 1 week down 1 to go. the bank holiday will make it easier, retail therapy always worked for me!
take care thinking of you

Hi Caz

Have my fingers crossed for you.......

Spotting sounds +ve, could be implantation?

I was wondering, are you using cyclogest pessaries?(if not could deffo be implantation)

I was told the pessaries would stop AF.........I have done FET so a bit different but was wondering if pessaries stop AF would they also stop implantation bleeding???????
So bloody confusing isnt it, if we bleed we worry, if we dont we worry.......

Someone I know who got pg naturally said for the 1st 3mths of pg they still got AF symptons.ie spots/cramps etc.etc.I suppose your body would still go through the symptons to start with and not just stop like that..Hope this helps......
Anyway, am waffling, I am day 10 of 2 ww and no symptons at all, AF symptons last week and last copule of days(the same as last time so feeling -ve)

Good luck Caz

hi girls

sarah and caz I have been keeping an eye on you both and these negative thoughts are not going to help.

you all have signs of af but they are pg signs aswell and you have not got af so this is very good new's. I know the 2wkk is so bad but try and keep positive.

look the odds are on that out of our ivf group 25% will get pg and it could be both your turn, I really hope so.

have a good weekend

July an thanks weetie - keeping my fingers crossed (for us all). Youa re totally right....its a numbers game and there no way of getting around it - just gotta wait now.
By the way the "spots" I was referring to where on my face not in my pants!! Much less exciting I'm afraid.
Thanks all of you for you sweet messages

Sarah - am I right in thinking you test tomorrow - good luck sweetie!

PS - think the girl I work with is PG - infact am convinced of it. Sort of feel a bit weird about it as I SHOULD be happy (Shes just had a miscarriage and shes lovely and I do really want her to be happy)....but , well you know, its a bit tough.

Anyway - catch you later
and thanks!
