PMA - you are sooo sweet! And you are so dead on about how far we are willing to go for our miracles! If I can just take this pain a bit more... but my OB said this when I had complications from my c-sec, you will be a better mom if you are not in pain and can function. So I believe that my body will be more relaxed and a better environment for our blastobabies if I am not miserable. I also read up a bunch and it seems like the statistics are the same for PIO and crinone. It is a pleasure going through this cycle with you since we have been in touch for so long and supporting each other thru other tough times. I am looking forward to pain free days now :) hey - one week from Friday we will get our BFPS!
How are your triplets doing? Image thanks again for your support!

lisa- I know it is hard sometimes to stay positive because you don't want to be too hopeful just to have your dreams crushed. But it is important, I believe, to be hopeful and have a positive attitude. HOw come you are only tranfering one? It does happen on the first IVF try for people so don't let the statistics scare you. Remember after Sunday, you are pregnant until proven otherwise!!!

Kiz - 19 follies is awesome - you go girl!!!!

Eshepherd - let me know how your shots went, hope it went well. It is normal to get nervous, the meds will mess with you! Like we need the extra crazy juice heh? ;)

bei - I am praying for good results for you to continue your cycle! So glad DH is supportive and a sweetie, it is ok to be scared and emotional, we invest so much in this, both financially and emotionally.

purple - congrats on your frosties that is great news! :) and this one will work!!!!Image

Hi Ladies! Sorry I have been MIA! Much to catch up on!

PMA: Glad to hear that you had stomach issues when on estrogen as well. It seems to have gotten better now that my body has adjusted to the increased levels of estrogen. Loved your website, but I want to see PICTURES of the cake!! Unfortunately, I believe that cake exists merely to hold icing. And, I love icing!!

Rio: Definitely see if you can do progesterone suppositories. I tried the PIO shot once and it was so awful that I demanded progesterone suppositories. Now, my clinic ONLY does the suppositories (3x/day).

Kizmit: I hear you w/ wanting the hubby to hurt *just* a little bit. We women have to carry the burden of IF treatments and then pregnancy and then labor...Sometimes I wish my hubby could bear some of this burden rather than it all being on me (esp since HIS SPERM is the reason we have to do this!).

Purplefish: What was it like to have twins?? I'm scared/excited by the idea...I guess we'll cross that bridge if we come to it.

Dys24: Do I read correctly that you have a 4 month old and are coming back for more!? You are a brave woman! My "lady parts" hurt for a year after having my son (turns out I needed physical therapy to help get rid of the scar tissues/damage from having my son) and I couldn't even think about going through labor/getting pregnant again. You are a strong woman!!

So, my nausea has gone away (thankfully). I have to say, the FET process is MUCH easier than IVF. One weird thing I've noticed: I have TONS of cervical mucus (like the kind you have when you are ovulating), but I'm only on day 7. Is this normal? (I'm assuming you all are familiar w/ cervical mucus b/c you likely spent months and months TTC, like we did.)

Bei - YAY!!!! I am so happy for you! I like pretty much any ice cream you can find. DH was sweet and got me an oreo blizzard last night... yum.

DC - I am not sure about for a FET, but for my IVF the week before my retrieval wow did I have a lot of cervical mucus, I was really surprised.

Lisa - It can be so hard to stay positive. I have two friends that were pregnant on their first IVF try, one with twins and one with triplets=) I believe too it is important to have a positive attitude, the mind has such a huge impact on the body so try to think of things that are positive in your life to focus on. I hope the transfer goes smoothly and we are all rooting for you!

dys - yay for starting lupron! The shots will go great, and lupron is an easy one.

I am having some sharp muscle pains on the right side almost where my ovary is. I have no idea what it is, but I am pretending that it is implantiation cramping :) Why can't the little blasties ring a bell or something if they implant, wouldn't that be nice.

mcfarland - big fat positive dust for you!
bei - great news congrats and good luck on stimming!
purple- I like the idea, ring a bell for implantation! Which for us should be happening today!!!!
PMA - how are you doing?
DC - glad your nausea went away! How are you feeling otherwise?

AFM - I had a dream that they were passing out our test results but the people were sitting in desks like we were receiving test results at school! Mine came back positive for twins! I go back and forth on my pMA, sometimes thinking we can't be that lucky to get a BFP and other times thinking yes we have a bun in the oven! My DS rubbed my belly last night and gave it a good luck kiss, so sweet!

hi everyone - one of the drs just called and said it was another negative :( i did fine until the end when he asked "are you ok?" and i just said "Yeah" through the tears - he said "I'm really sorry - stay strong" and I said "thank you".

I guess I'll pray for strength today - hurts just as much the second time around :( Now we are going out with friends and I want to just curl up in my bed and not come out :(

thank you all for your support and encouragement. i'll do personals later (i promise) - the dr said i could jump right back into another frozen cycle but my doctor had told me that he will probably do more tests before we do another round (we still have 2 frozen embryos left)

till next time -

Hey Ashley,

Like so many other ladies here, I know that feeling... and I feel very sad for you. :( It's hard to keep a PMA when you just had a BFN; if you feel like crying, do cry, if you feel like curling up in bed with the intention to never come out, then do it. I know that with a BFN comes certain relief too, because the wait is finally over, and the stress that comes with it too. I pray that you have the strength to live your sadness to its full extent, and then move on to a new project that makes you all excited and happy, may it be baby-related or not. I also pray that your doctor will find a clue, something... because when you look back at a BFN cycle and can at least say you've learned something from it, it helps bring the PMA back. You feel stronger when you give IVF another try.

I wish I was there to give you a big hug and share a huge pot of extra fudgy brownie bits triple chocolate ice cream...

Hang in there baby, we all know many ladies who got even more than they asked for when they were at the end of the rope and almost ready to give up. You have two little frosties who ask nothing better than to take you as their mama. They'll be there when you're ready.

Hugs to your hubby too...

Sophie xxxx

Hey girlies,

I have a few minutes while taking my progesterone, so I thought I'd spend it with my girls! :)

I have a question for you. I don't think there is one good answer; your impressions will all help me. On Friday, I had an apt with DS. I told the Dr and his nurse about my catering service. THey were both super enthusiastic and I think I'll have an order before long. THe Dr told me about another mom he knows, who started a cupcake catering business a couple years ago. He showed me her website and told me she is now successful. So I told him right away that I wanted to contact her and offer her to join forces and help each other out because our products were different. I don't like competition and I avoid it whenever I can.

So I wrote her a friendly email. I took the time to check her menu and saw that the only cakes she advertised were very different than mine (I didn't see fondant anywhere, just colored icing, no tiers, etc.). So I offered her to remove cupcakes from my menu and advertise her business on my website and with my clients, and offered her to do the same with my desserts. She gave me a friendly reply, but with a twist. She said

I would gladly love to help you out but from what I see from you website, our work is similar. I make cakes, all kinds of cakes, from simple to wedding, from regular vanilla to Reine Elizabeth. Let me know how you feel I can help you out and I will see if we can work something out.

The thing is, I don't really know what to answer. If she really does what she says (despite what she shows on her website), she's my direct competitor. And I think she lives in my area. Her business is home-based, but my Dr told me he saw trucks with her brand name the other day. I no longer see how we could help each other out...??? Any ideas? If you're curious her web site is www.montrealcupcakes.com

rio,
So, how is that bum? Are the bumps a bit smaller and less painful now? Thanks for your kind words sweetie, I'm also very hpapy that we're cycling together and I HOPE we'll go through pregnancy together too! How cool would that be? THe triplets are doing fine, thanks. I'm still tired, and I hope it's only the beginning. No symptoms, some cramping when I went through some stress on Friday, but it went away. I had a wonderful Swedish massage yesterday (thanks to our insurance!!!!), and you can be sure I'll be back, she's amazing. Plus I have a new haircut that I'm IN LOVE WITH. :D

DC,
An icing junkie huh? LOL yeah, I thought I would take a pic of the cake once it's been partially cut, but I never remember. Thanks for your kind words about my website. Hey, the nausea is gone, that's great! :) Yup, I had increased secretions when on estrogen. Goes with the increased appetite! :)

purplefish,
Totally agree on the bell thing. They should attach it to each embie. Or sent some kind of implantation alarm on our lining. BEEP BEEP BEEP INVASION WARNING! :)

Okay, gotta go back outside, it's a lovely sunny day and we're working on the yard. SO MUCH to do it's crazy.

Love,

Sophie xxx

PS people have started making orders, my oldest friend just told me he wants me to make his wedding cake at the end of June, and the nurse told me her son might order his cake from me... 175 guests! WOW YIPPEE!!!!
