Need Hope--Only 2-4 Embryos likely to retrieve

Hi--

I need some hope. I have not responded well to the stimulation and only have 2 good follicles and maybe 2 others. I am so devastated by this. Does anyone have a story of hope for me? Why am I not responding? We doubled the med dose from the first time that we did IVF back in 2008 that resulted in 6 eggs/5 embryos.

Anyone with a positive story would be much appreciated.

I would ask your doctor about microdose lupron flare protocol ...if you're not on it already. It helps us older girls and those that dont respond well or have DOR. It was my miracle protocol with my son...and I'm a huge believer in it.

The good news is that back in '08 when you got 6 eggs...you got 5 embryos...that is terrific. Most women get about a 50% rate (from eggs to embryos). If your rate is that high this time with 4 possible eggs...then you may get 3 embryos to transfer.

there is always hope!

when i was doing my ivf, the ultrasound scan nurse told me that a lady went back to the clinic to see her with her baby. that lady only had 2 eggs and put one back. she got pregnant! so the nurse told me that you only need one embryo tp get pregnant anyway!

my response rate was not good too as i only have one ovary, and there is a cyst inside. they increased the dose the second time n 1 had 6 eggs, 4 fertilised. i put back one and got pregnant! now i have a beatuiful boy of 8 months old!!

Good news!! The RE stopped my meds after we had the miserable aptmt where the RE said we only had 2-4 embies and the next day EVERYTHING FLOURISHED and there were 8-10 follies!! We did retrieval 2 days after the day the RE said 2-4 embies and they got 9 eggs, 8 were mature. 5 fertilized, 4 made it to day 5! We transferred 2 blasts yesterday and are going to wait until Day 7 to decide whether to freeze the remaining 2.

This just goes to show that this is a day-by-day process!!

How is your estrogen level? They can't always see everything on the US. I never had a good response and only had 2 follicles the last time (4th IVF) and it was a success... You only need one! Try to keep a positive outlook and take it day by day!
