Hi Augustrain! Congratulations and welcome to the board! February or January...both are still very much "winter" so you are right where you belong. So if I am doing my math correctly, you are now right around 11 weeks. I am assuming in your first 2 u/s appointments things looked good. At this point, I would say you have every reason to begin enjoying this pregnancy. Trust me though, we ALL understand how you feel (and I can only imagine how a small frame and twins add to that). Still, do your best to enjoy it. How are you feeling otherwise? Any nausea or exhaustion? I had both and feel like I am finally turning a corner.

AFM- had my NT scan today and everything looked perfect. I mean everything! Little fingers and toes, brain, bones, tummy, heart, bladder, etc. The u/s scared me at first because now that the baby is getting bigger the heart is less visible. But it was there and beating away at a fast but healthy 167. Its hard to tell in the ticker, but we got one shot of the LO "waving" at us and the tech added text that says "Hi Mom and Dad". So cute! I can't believe its going to be another 7 weeks before I see my baby.

We asked about the gender because we could see a very clear line protruding between his/her legs. Tech says that they all protrude there at this age and that some studies say that girls protrude horizontally and boys protrude vertically. Based on that I would guess girl (it was as horizontal as it gets), but the tech said it was way too early to even guess. Any of you have any experience with that? How did it turn out?

UPDATE- disregard my question. Although if you are curious here is a great site for you expecting ladies to check out on the subject of early gender prediction. Turns out its wrong 50% of the time and only right about boys 14% of the time. Better odds at the casino! ;-)

Hope everyone is well. Any appointments coming up?

Alisa: Yay for a healthy baby! We asked our doctor for a gender guess, but she refused. She said we would find out in a few weeks :D

August: Welcome! :D

AFM: Great NT scan for me too! 1 in 1600 chance for Downs. Healthy baby. No clue if it's a girl or boy. I hate waiting :D

Katie - Welcome! That is so wonderful that the birth mother thought of you guys and wants you to take part in all of her appointments. I'm so excited for you!

August - Welcome as well! I sometimes feel like doctors tell us the negative news, even if there is a very slim chance things will go that way just so we don't sue them :) I think you are far enough along to not worry about what they said. Enjoy it! Which I know is easier said than done, I feel like I freak out every day that I have done harm to the baby. Everyone tells me to calm down, and I say I will at 35 weeks :D

Bliss- So happy to hear your NT scan went well! I am really hoping we will found out the gender at our next appt, but I have a feeling my doc will make me wait until the following appt. But I'm going to ask/beg  You also asked on the other thread if Ryann used FCI, I did and I absolutely loved them.

Deft - congrats on the wonderful NT scan also!

AFM - next appt is Monday evening. I am really hoping they will look for the gender, I don't know if I can wait another month. I'm really bad at waiting and surprises.

I saw my midwife today and we got to hear the heart beat!!!!! At first she couldn't find it with the doppler but then she said "I remember your uterus is tilted. Let me do a gentle pelvic and see which way it's tilted" As soon as she did that, she tried doppler again and found it right away. It was just a matter of knowing how my uterus was tilted. I love my midwife.

My next appointment is 5 weeks away. ugh ugh ugh

Mora- yay for a great scan for you too!

Addy- thanks for the nod on FCI. So far everyone I talk to loves them. I didn't even notice you were in Chicago until you mentioned it. I think there is a very good chance you can learn gender at your scan. How exciting! You will be the first of us to know.

Nancy- Don't you just adore hearing that little heartbeat? I know how you feel on the long wait. I don't go back again for 4 weeks but my next ultrasound isn't for 7 weeks. Glad I have my home doppler! However I only plan on using it once or twice a week.

AFM- feeling so much better! Still a touch of nausea, but I'm getting my energy back. Last night at about 9 I had so much energy I had to get on the elliptical for 20 minutes. A week ago I was conked out by 9. Also went to the salon and highlighted my hair to blend in gray today (now that I am passed 12 weeks). Starting to feel human again...

Had my 14wk checkup/ultrasound on Thurs. Everything still looks great! They are growing like weeds. Both babies were very active. They only negative was that the dr (not my usual dr) was very backed up with patients so I felt that the u/s and visit were very rushed. But I cant be greedy since I get an u/s with each visit. We find out the genders in just 2 wks!!! Congrats to everyone on the progress! And I guess Im not the only twin momma on our board now! Congrats!~

Even though it is not me carrying the baby I still am so nervous! But today we are officially out of the first trimester! I am feeling somewhat relieved and she says she feels great.....what I wouldn't give to be as fertile as she is! Our next appt is on August 12th when we hopefully will find out if it is a boy or girl.....so excited I can't stand it.....one of each would be nice but to have a sister for Em would be nice too. The other day I was getting a pedi at a local shop and I was sitting next to Katherine Heigl (Izzy from Grey's Anatomy) we started talking about babies (she adopted too) and her mom mentioned that having one of each (bio & adopted) she can attest that you love neither one differently. I am still struggling a bit with not carrying any of my children myself and I know that after they are born it does not make a bit of difference I breast fed Em and felt from the moment they put her in my arms that she was my child and will with the new one too.....I guess I just have to take the time to grieve that and be thankful god sent me an angel to carry a child for me. But I do love living vicariously through you girls & through my secret surrogate (birth mom calls herself that...)

Hopefully your days are not too hot....it is 81 degrees here but I live in the mountains so 81 degrees is HOT!!! We usually top off around 70 something.....

Bliss - so happy your energy is back now find a way to bottle it for when you take your baby home :-D and when you do let me know!

Dallas & Mora & Deft - Congrats on excellent scans....I think we all take a collective phew when one of says they passed another milestone! :P :P

Addy - I can't hardly wait until August 16th when we know....so I bet you are on pins & needles.....team pink or team blue?? Or are you having twins?? Can't remember so maybe one of each!

August - Welcome aboard!!! I am not pregnant but am adopting a baby from the same birth mom as my DD and I cycled with some of these ladies durning my donor cycle & some fresh my own cycle too during the past year so they kindly let me stay aboard! So congrats to you & shame on your Dr for saying that to you....you will be just fine!

For those I missed hope you are all having a wonderful day and the heat isn't getting to you too bad!

Deft - I actually grew up in Palos Verdes CA...but moved to Utah for a skiing scholarship for college & moved to Park City after....we are a small town but with lots of "famous" people living here to remain anonymous....they find us because of the Sundance Film Festival and lots never leave.... but I do miss my CA upbringing and sometimes wish I never left but the skiing here is so un-believeable that I am happy and I can surf now too....off our boat the hubster makes waves for me!!!!

Have you played any gender prediction games or used any website predictors and what were the results?

Okay ladies- I thought it was time someone took on the task of organizing this group! We now have an official "Roll Call" list. I thought for fun we could also add a question of the week so we could share fun, meaningless info a long the way.

Nancy and Easley- I need your due dates!

Please let me know if I missed anyone or if there are any updates.

AFM...

My AOTW (Answer of the Week). I have used two different online predictors and they have both predicted a GIRL! Of course one had the girl as 14 pounds 14 oz (yikes). Needless to say I am not buying any pink yet...

P.S. This is a BIG deal for me and totally unlike me. I have never used a blinkie of any kind before. It took some serious time, but was sort of fun!

Alisa--Thanks for starting the list! I've used the Chinese Gender Predictor:

http://www.babycenter.com/chinese-gender-predictor

It says boy for me . . . it was also right that DD would be a girl . . . who knows?

Oh, and don't use Intelligender . . . waste of $$$$ . . . we used it for DD and it was wrong . . . RE laughed when I told him we used it . . . he said we should have just given him the $40 . . . :D

All signs point to a girl for us...but birth mom is for sure it is a boy and I keep having boy dreams so we shall see! The fortune baby one is about 50/50 right.....worked for 50% of my friends.....
