Ashley. That is a great birth story. Cant omagine going all natural. You are amazing. Thank you for sharing.

Blair. While my babies were still in nicu, i had a hard time with milk production. The LC recommended getting an rx for reglan. It is a intestinal med but a side effect is increased milk production. There is also a risk of depression and fatigue, sounds like motherhood. It is controversial so check it out. But for me within 3 days i was producing enough milk for both of them. I only took it for three weeks to limit other side effects. There is also mother milks tea and fenugreek that are natural milk stimulants. I did not try those. When i went home, i rented a scale like the ones at the hospital so i could see how mich they were nursing and then suppliment with expressed milk. I only nursed 1-2 time a day till they were over six poinds because it just fatigued my little ones so much to nurse. I didnt want them to burn too many calories. I pumped a lot. Still do. I made it to six weeks without having to suppliment formula. Now they get about 75% BM unless they are on growing spurt. I did not need nipple shields. Hope this helps. And remember, you are doing the best you can for your babies. It is hard to nurse twins and keep up with milk production. Just do the best you can. Oh, i also found thati produce a lot more milk with more rest. If you can do it try and get a good three hour nap in between feedings or pumping once a day. My DH will watch the babies for me so i can nap without half sleeping cause you are listening for babies. Good luck.

Afm. I started back to work three days a week. I have a friend that is watching the babies in my home. I am taking an hour and half lunch so i come home everyday. It makes it easier. Sleep is harder and limited! Hunter and ella are doing great. Hunter still having some reflux issues. Medication does not seem to be helping much, poor little guy. Ella is just a sweet happy go lucky little girl. They are in. Three month clothes. I was so sad yet happy to put away the newborn clothing. They grow so quickly!

AFM: Hanging in there. I do have a headache that I've had since Tuesday night. (did go away with the meds last night for
short time) Went in yesterday to have a blood pressure check and urine check before she would subsribe something. Woke up with headache again. ARGH I know if I call her and tell her the headache is still there she will make me go in for a full workup. I'm not concerned at all about pre-clampsia. I know I had it with my 2nd but the doctors told me it was an isolated case. I'm so close. Lucas needs to stay in there for another 10 days

I'm just over the moon today! I found out yesterday that I finally have high enough seniority at work to move from nights (3pm to 11pm and 9pm to 5am shifts) to DAYS!!! My new schedule begins on the 18th working from 630am to 630pm with a 4 hour break during the late morning. Our family really needed this. The stress of my schedule was having a huge impact on my older two kids and my marriage. I was beginning to think Brady and Jaxon didn't even know I was their mommy. I really feel God has given us this opportunity at the perfect time!

Thanks, all!! I'm glad you enjoyed reading my birth story. I still find it hard to believe that I was able to do it all naturally even though that was my plan all along. I have such a low threshold for pain, so doing what I did, I am so, so proud of myself!

Stephanie - That's wonderful news!!! So happy for you. I'm afraid once I go back to work (when I finally find a job here in TX), I'll either get an evening or a night shift, which will be so difficult to handle with the new baby and hubby, but oh, so necessary. Because... (read below)


AFM - Hubby and I are finally purchasing a house!! We're trying to close on the house by the end of the month, but we're leasing it to the current sellers for another 2 months beyond the closing date because we're tied to our current apartment lease till the end of February. Besides, the sellers need some time to hunt for another house themselves, so it works out well for the both of us. We're paying much more money than anticipated with a $100,000 down (gulp), but we loved the house so much, we did not want to pass up on the opportunity. Needless to say, we're pinching pennies now. But yay, it's so exciting to finally be homeowners!!

I'm finally getting the hang of breastfeeding without having to pump, yay! No more mastitis or clogged ducts - no more pain and loving every minute of it! This girl LOVES to feed. Her growth "curve" is more like a vertical line on the chart. At her 1 month appt, she weighed 9 lb. 11 oz, which was up by 2 lb 11 oz since birth. She weighed 11 lb 1 oz (with light clothes and a diaper on) at her last appt, which was just a couple days ago. She's growing like a weed! Sharing a couple pics of her below..

Steph - awesome news for your job hours! I'm trying to get my boss to let me be off (without pay) every other friday. I don't know yet. I asked her AGAIN on wednesday and got a "we'll see" answer.

Ashley- wow, Athena is growing fast. Chloe had her 2 month appt wednesday (9 wks) and she weighed 11lb 3 oz. About 50th percentile. She's 85th in height though! Takes after her 6 foot 5 inch tall father.

AFM- who knew that staying home would be so busy. Tonight we're going to dinner without chloe for the first time. My friend is babysitting. I'm nervous but looking forward to it as well.

Ashley - "Li'l" Miss Athena is gorgeous!!! I love her little mouth, which maybe sounds weird, but it's such a pretty shape. And those cheeks! I'm happy you found a house you love and that it's a situation that works out for everyone. Our closing back in May was a friggin' NIGHTMARE and it was about 7 weeks before the boys were born... Praying all goes smooth with your purchase!

Lou - Chloé is 2 months already??! Wow! She's looking more and more like her beautiful mama every time you post a new pic. All these gorgeous little girls makes me want a baby girl someday. I think there'd hafta be some convincing DH on that one! Hope your date night was wonderful!

ashley - Athena is such a cutie! Love those new pics you posted. Congrats on finding a house! DH & I are looking to buy a house right now too. We looked a bunch last week and have appointments for two more this week. Exciting and terrifying at the same time!

Stephanie - Congrats on the change in schedule! Damn, you must be exhausted with all of those hours and twins! I hated that 3-11 shift once my older kids were both in school - it's like I never saw them anymore. So I got off of that schedule and on to days as soon as an opening came up. It was a wonderful change!

Stephanie - thanks! No, it's not at all weird. Lol, I've got lots of people saying that, especially about her "Angelina Jolie lips" lol. I can't believe she's already 6 weeks old. Time is going by way too fast, yikes! I vaguely remember your nightmare in regard to closing on your house. Hope we don't have to face that! Looking forward to seeing new pics of your sweet little boys.

Amanda - Thanks! House hunting is fun! We only saw 6 houses in total, but we've been Internet searching for houses for months now! It's only been 9 days since we saw the house we're buying. We hopped on it right away. I guess when you know, you know. I know what you mean about it being terrifying and exciting at the same time. Such a scary thought that the house will only be paid off by the time Athena is my age! We're trying to shoot for double payments every once in a while to pay it off quicker.. but that requires me to start working asap!
