Ghost: no heart beat detected at 5 week 6 days scan

Ghost or anyone - should this be a concern? Doc said he saw a gestational and yolk sac and said it is early to detect a HB. I forgot to ask about fetal pole.

My beta yesterday at 27DPO was 8400..My earlier betas were 92(13dpo) and 197(15dpo).

I have still not recovered from my MC experience few months back at 12 weeks.. I want to be strong and prepared this time. I thought that we should see at least a flickering of heart by end of 5th week. Is there anyone who didn't see a heart beat this late and still had a healthy baby?

Hi Sunshine - It is early to see/hear a heartbeat. I think most see it between 6-7 weeks. My first u/s was at 6 weeks and the gestational sac & yolk sac were visible. At my second u/s at 6w6d we could see/hear the heartbeat. Good luck!

That is exactly what I saw on 5w6d scan....sac and yolk. We went back almost a week later and saw not one, but two HB's

I think you are right on track...that is what I was told to expect at that stage. A few days makes a big difference. Hang in there and congratulations!!

thank you so much for your posts amanda and margi!! that is a huge relief..!!i was so depressed the whole day yesterday.. last time i had my scan at 5w2d and 6w2d and saw HB at 6w2d.. so i thought i should see 1 at 5w6d..
