Elevated FSH but high antral follicle count

I was wondering if anyone had any insight they could offer. We are currently looking another round of IVF and my FSH was tested it came back at 14 this month, but my antral follicle count was 24.
Has anyone ever heard of having an elevated FSH with a high AFC?

I was wondering if anyone had any insight they could offer. We are currently looking into doing a thrid round of IVF and when my FSH was tested it came back at 14 this month, but my antral follicle count was 24. This the highest FSH level I have had for the past 2 years (we've been doing fertility treatments to have a second child on and off for the past two years). To start this cycle I had to take provera, and went in for blood work on day three of bleeding aftter a provera induced period so I wonder if that could have caused my FSH level to not be an accurate reading. While I was taking the provera I got a positive ovulation test, so I'm not sure if I was midcycle (as I don't ovulate regularly) when I started the provera and if that could help explain the elevated FSH?

Has anyone ever heard of having an elevated FSH with a high AFC? I should add that I am 32 years old (history of 4 miscarriages, 1 stillbirth, and one live birth and endometriosis).

I don't know if Provera can alter the FSH like that. But the AFC is the more important measure.

My last IVF I produced 11 eggs, 10 fertilized peak E2 was over 5000. We transfered 2 and froze four (although it was a day 2 transfer due to the summer hurricane my doctor's office was worried about losing power so they transfered the embryos before the storm). This time I'm going to a new clinic and the doctor wants to put me on a Letrozole/lupron microdose protocol. I know my FSH came back high, but I don't think that I am a poor responder, but it appears as if I am being put on a medication protocol for poor responders. In your experience do you see much success with a Letrozole/Lupron microdose flare protocol?

An AFC of 24 is outstanding and suggests a high response. The FSH level is a bit contrary and perhaps disconcerting. You might ask your RE how the two might coexist in your case. I believe the AFC is the better predictor of ovarian response.

We have not used letrozole with microdose protocols that I can recall.
