Ghost or anyone.... help!

Post by brit1612 »

I have had my last two attempts at an FET cancelled due to a thick lining and large cyst that was producing hormones. Just went in this morning, after being on high dose bcp for two weeks, and the cyst was still just as large (around 33mm). But I just received a voicemail saying that I was ok to start my cycle because my hormones were back to normal. I really want to start but I also can not afford to waste these donor embryos or our money on a cycle that is likely to fail. My question is....is it ok to start the cycle with this large of a cyst??? My nurse said that they would not do an IVF cycle with this type of cyst but that with an FET it would be ok. Any thoughts or advice???? Thanks in advance!

With my fresh cycle back in 2009, I had the exact same problem. I was on BCP and lupron, went in for my first sono, and there was a cyst, and my E2 levels were too high. They upped the lupron, and a week later I had another sono and the cyst had GROWN!!! I was certain my cycle was going to get canceled, but they called that afternoon to tell me my E2 had dropped to what they wanted, so we were good to go. They did not care about the cyst, they cared if it was producing estrogen, and since it wasn't, onward we went. And we have a beautiful daughter to show for it. :D

A cyst that is not making hormones should not cause any problems.

Thanks for the reassurance Ghost. You are always such a help to us ladies!

Thanks sooo much for the encouraging story dogzrule!!! It is so nice to hear stories that you can relate to. When will your little miracle turn two?? It sounds like our little ones are pretty close in age; mine will be two March 23. Can't believe two years has already gone by!

Congrats on your current pregnancy!! I can't imagine having another little one with my little boy right now. He is a handful and very jealous if I hold another baby; which is really wierd considering he is very independent! I go back on Friday to make sure the lining has shed, then I will be starting my FET finally. Thanks again for the reassurance.

Thanks for the encouragment!! I went in this morning and my lining was down to a 6. The nurse said that they like to see it below a 6, so it is still a little thick. But my period seems to have really just started full flow today. This is the third day of bleeding, but it was very light the first two days. I am waiting for a call back to get instructions. I will likely be waiting a day or two and then starting the pills and patches. She said there is a chance that he will be comfortable with me starting them this afternoon.

Ghost (if you are reading this) would it be smart to start with a lining of 6 or to wait a couple days? I know I probably don't have much say in this, but just curious your opinion. Thanks!

My clinic would not start a patient with a lining that thick.

I got the call to go ahead and start. I am a little nervous because we have four embryos left and I want to make sure we are starting at the appropriate time. My estrogen is down to a 26 so that is not a problem anymore. What would your clinic do....wait a few days, another month???? Thanks for any input.

I have been bleeding heavily all day, so is there a possibility that it has thinned out more since this morning??
