Newbie and first beta positive

Post by alaska »

Hi everyone,

We've been trying to conceive since mid-2009, a year on our own, 4 rounds of Follistim/Intercourse or IUI, 1 failed IVF with my eggs, and now this IVF with donor eggs. I am 41, and we transferred 2 pretty embryos day 5, and we are now 10 days post transfer. I went in for my beta today and it was positive - need to go back on Wednesday for the follow up to make sure everything is still lumbering ahead. Terrified to get my hopes up, terrified to not get my hopes up, if that makes any sense... I have been spotting - mostly light pink on and off since about day 7 post transfer - heard it is relatively normal in IVF instances, but it scares the crud out of me! Anyway, just trying to get through the next day and a half without going too crazy --> and then of course it is on to (hopefully) find a high risk OB, since I am apparently OLD...

Thanks all ;)

Congrats! I know it is nerve wracking. Try to enjoy these few days as you wait. Spotting can be quite normal.

Thanks Ladies - really appreciate it :)

1st beta was 184.4 on monday
2nd beta was 376 today!

Go back in two weeks for an ultrasound, maybe it will start to really feel real then :) Although the exhaustion and lead boobs may help...

Appreciate your support - will post back after this new two week wait!
