help needed!!!!!!!!!!

Hi, i today started taking some HRT to give my body a menstrual cycle my doctors are telling me only to complete half of the packet instead of all 28 tablets. I am then going onto fertility injections to make the follicles grow. My egg retrieval date is set for March the 6TH Can anybody tell me what to except and what i will experience please? Im really scared that's all Thanks it would mean a lot x

what drug are you taking? I think you mean birth control pills, since you say a 28-day packet (other things come that way, but not things usually meant to bring on a period).

I've done 10 days of BCP and then stopped, and gotten a period. You should be fine. As hard as it is, sometimes you just have to trust the doctor (goodness knows, I'd be happier if I listened to my own advice!)

I can't take any form of birth control pills, because of a blood disorder i have. It's prempak-c ( HRT ) and i'm not guaranteed to have a bleed. It's only what they said, i just need some information to what to expect with the procedure and the effects of the fertility injections x

I think everyone is different with effects of the fertility drugs. For me had no problem with the egg stimulating drugs but always struggle with side effects if progesterone (I half joke and call it liquid pms) as for the retrieval I think at most clinics you go under conscious sedation. So outside if the before and after there isn't much to report. Before was no big deal, just get checked in and have an iv placed. Afterward with my first I was really sore (like someone used my ovaries like a punching bag) but I recovered within the half day. With the sevond one I was less sore since they got less eggs (I think that's why) most clinic give a nice packet about these procedures if you didn't get one, you might see if they have one too.

I pushed them to be put to sleep for the procedure and that date is all set, im just really scared of the whole idea of it, purely because its not exactly every womans dream to go through. Since i'v been taking these pills, i'v been having terrible mood swings, it's also made my arthritis flare up a lot more in places it doesn't usually effect that much too. It's just really confusing when the doctors never really tell you anything at all.
I'v also been told as i have lots of other medical issues that its usually a 24 hour period that you shouldn't be left alone for, but mine is 48 hours as im a lot higher risk or something. Thankyou for the explanation of your personal experience, it has helped me understand a fair bit about the procedure and that its nothing too much to worry about, thank you x
