Is it a good idea to go for the package?

Post by voilet547 »

Hi ladies. I had a couple of questions. DH and I were thinking of going for IVF. Our OB has referred us to an IVF clinic. We went there for an initial consultation. We liked what the doctor had to say. However, it is the money that is troubling us. We knew it would cost a lot. However, we didn't expect this much. Despite that, we were ready to give it a shot. However, what is really confusing is the way the doctor keeps stressing that we get the package plan. That is a plan where we pay for 3 cycles together. This way the cost will be a bit less than paying for 3 cycles seperately. Is it a good idea to go for the package? What if the first cycle is successful?

What does the doctor mean by 3 cycles? Three egg retrievals? Three transfers?

Whether it’s a good deal would depend on the price, the success rates, and those of your alternatives.
Avoid IVF and surrogacy in Ukraine. Ukrainian centers pay shills to post here under numerous sock accounts pretending to be patients in Ukraine. Centers using such deceptive advertising cannot be trusted and should be avoided.

You might consider undergoing IVF at clinics in Czech rep, Poland, Greece or Spain. In Poland you would pay about EUR2,500 for top quality IVF with meds.

Ukraine is blamed for shills... don't mention places or you'll be tagged as shills for Poland maybe. :P Just, kidding! :D we all need a bit of laugh right to let go of all our frustrations with failed TTCs... please don't take it seriously. :D Between, I think reproductive tourism is a boon to all those who are having trouble financing their follow-on IVF cycles. I wouldn't recommend any country as such as all it takes it googling a bit to know which one suits their case. However, I'd advise anyone going for a clinically assisted fertility abroad two things: Opt for programs that offer guaranteed parenthood or refund and read the contract carefully to understand there's no hidden cost that can blow up the bills in whichever program you choose. While the first one ensures that the kind of refund must keep the clinic on their toes to not to fail or be remiss in their efforts the later protects against deliberate add-ons to the bills. You need to make sure the very purpose of your opting for the fertility procedures abroad (finances) does not get wasted. Last, but not least, the litigations of the chosen country wrt the procedure you're opting for is also a significant consideration.

Usually the package plans are worth it. but i am not sure that it is your case. do what you guts tell you.
if you make a mistake it is going to be your mistake. and you will be able to learn from it.
but if you are looking for cheap options, just look for other clinics.. there are plenty of those.
we did that with our surrogacy plan. we signed with World Center of baby agency. it is a Ukrainian agency. so far so good.
