hi girls, I have not written for a while but I have been reading the messages and wish you all luck. I started sniffing on the 10th January - not to bad not a very nice taste though. Went to hospital today for baseline scan - they said my lining was thick (my last period was a week late and very light) and that i might not be able to start injections tonight and that they might postpone for a few weeks!! got the phone call to say that i could start injections so have just taken my 1st injection of this cycle. so here we go again. I have been put on 4 ampules for 6 days and then 3 ampules for 7 ( because my foliciles on the last attempts have been small) how many ampules is every one else on. I go back to the hospital for my next scan on the 8th Feb and then go from there.

Don't really know how I feel at the moment - excited and nervous. This is our 3rd attempt so my feelings are different from last time. The 1st time around i hoped I would be one of the lucky ones where the treatment works 1st time around but still when it didnt i still felt hopeful about the 2nd attempt - so this is the 3rd attempt and with the money all spent i am pinning a lot on this time around. Has any one heard about taking baby asprin Im not sure whether to start taking it or not?

Wishing you all lots of love and affection and hope you keep us all informed on your own thoughts and feelings.

This is my 2nd attempt and don't remember my stomach been so swollen , is every cycle different?

Elizabeth Anne, looks like we are at the same stage, my EC is set for 14th Feb.

Hi everyone

Hi danica glad you are surviving your injections. They are ok once you get used to them. Good luck for thursday. Take Care

I have been to the hospital today for a scan and blood test. I am now ready for ec on thursday. My late night hcg injection is tonight. Very nervous.
Also had some disappointing news today. As my hormone levels are high they have suggested freezing my embroys for now. Had not prepared myself for that happening and have now had my first weep today.

If anyone has been through anything similar, would appreciate hearing from you as feeling quite low.
Also anyone who has been or is going through FET, what is the procedure. I haven't read up on fet as didn't think I would need to at this stage.

Hope everyone else is ok .

Take Care

Christine,

With 33 follies, I am guessing you're going to be quite uncomfortable afterwards (I was and only had 19!). Between that and the risk of OHSS, I think a FET is probably the way to go. When I had my transfer for my fresh IVF, I was still sore and uncomfortable from EC (and I had a 5 days transfer; I couldn't even imagine having done it on Day 3 after EC!). When I had the transfer for my FET (I'm on the 2 ww right now), I felt relaxed and in much better health. FET's at some clinics have a success rate which is very close to fresh transfers...and part of the reason that it isn't equal to the success rate for fresh transfer might just be that typically the best embryos are chosen for the fresh transfers. My clinic actually told me that many of their patients only get pregnant with FETS. I guess it's because one's system is less traumatized going into the transfer.

If you do a natural FET, you probably won't even have to take any medications for it at all so it will be really easy. For a medicated FET, I had to downreg then take estradiol tablets (to build up my lining) and then, progesterone at the end to sustain it. There were some other drugs involved like antibiotics. It was much easier than the fresh cycle. The whole thing did take about a month between starting to downreg and the transfer. I think I started downregging on Dec. 29 and I had my transfer Fri. the 28th.

At any rate, I understand why you would be disappointed. After making it this far, I'm sure you just wanted to see things through to completion but, under the circumstances, after the EC you might find yourself feeling relieved that you'll be able to have those embies transferred when you're feeling better!

Good luck Thurs.!

Hi Amithis

Thank you so much for your reply. It really helps when someone is or has been going through similar. You are right with your comments. Once I get over the initial disappointment sure I will feel a little more positive.

Be thinking of you. Good luck and take care on your 2ww. keep us posted

Danica,

I'm doing ok. Thanks for asking. I have to say I have very little hope for this working though. Nonetheless, I've been following the clinic's instructions and kept to light activity for 5 days. Today, I'm going to do a light workout in the hopes that it will improve my mood. They said it was ok to go back to normal activity after the 5 days but I'm a little paranoid about that since my "normal" level of activity is probably way above the average. With the way these meds. are making me feel, I don't think I can do too much anyway. I think I might call my clinic to see if I can test a day or two earlier. Considering I did a 5 day transfer, I don't know why they are making me wait 14 days after ET to test.

How are you feeling? What day of stimming are you on now?

Hi Girls,

Well my transfer went ahead on Tuesday and two lovely embryos were put back. Since then I've been taking it very easy and looking after them.

Somehow after all the trauma of the cycle I've been through I left the hospital feeling very positive, I think it helped knowing all the embryos thawed without a problem, si I know I can do it now. Even though I am full of cold started striaght after the transfer I still feel really good.

Now Staci, stop worrying about your embryos they thawed OK, so they didn't develop fast we can all be alittle slow to start at times. Try and stay positive.

Hope everyone else is doing OK with their cycle and the stims are going OK.

Better go and put my feet up again.

Love,

Jane

Jane,

Glad to hear your transfer went well!

I'm trying my best to be positive but that -ive HPT yesterday certainly didn't help! DH got home last night and asked why I was so teary and down all of the sudden. I told him I just felt like this didn't work. He asked if there was anything specific that has changed to make me feel that way and I just couldn't bring myself to tell him the truth. He'll think the result is actually valid because he won't understand why I would take it knowing that it's too early for it to be right. Only the people on this board would understand that!

Anyway, rest and take care of yourself!!

aw staci, dont give up hope yet, its still waaay too soon but i do understand how you're feeling, im sure i'll be really tempted to try one of those HPT's even though i despise them. how did your mini workout go? u sound nice and fit, wish i had your stamina, i struggle to go for a long walk, although its been sooo hot here (excuses lol) however its cooled down a lot these past couple of days (typical melbourne weather) but its been gushing with rain - really quite bizarre for this time of year! anyways, i've been stimming since sunday and kinda getting used to the injections. i had a blood test today to see how im going on the puregon & so far so good. monday i have a scan & another blood test which will determine whether i have EC next week wow i cant believe it! u stay strong ok! :D
jane, yaaaay, im so glad everything went well! glad to hear you're really positive too, now u look after yourself and the 2 precious embies, feet up and relax, u have a grand excuse now!
debra, cant wait till i have my name up in your 'test date' thread coz if it is it means everything went well so far - i see all the stages as huge stepping stones and trust me, theyve been huges hurdles for me! cant wait for my big day!
hope everyone's good,
luv, d :D

Hi everyone,

I'm feeling a bit anxious today, and very tired.
I had a day seven scan today and there are 30 follicles, 15 on each ovary.
That's good but my hormone levels are rising too high too quickly so they want me back tomorrow for another scan.
I'm just praying they'll settle down a bit before EC, which could be monday.
I'm not sleeping very well either which isn't helping. The mammouth journey through the thick of the traffic everyday means being on the road for 5.45am, so I'm not sleeping properly because I'm worrying about getting up in time
My tummy feels like a rugby ball and is very bruised!! :(
Never mind, sorry for whinging, just feel that way out today.
I've felt fine until now, not getting enough sleep is not good for me, I'm one of those people who needs their full 8 hours - I'm a zombie otherwise
Hope everyone else is feeling okay today, we're certainly pushed through the mill with all this.
take care,
love claire x
